The Chop House — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

let's start slow.... we were seated very quickly. the waitress came over pretty fast.. took our drink order(sweet tea) and offered some bread. we ordered an appetizer( onion rings). the bread arrived,,, well the end cut from the loaf they use to serve better customers, (I'm guessing) not even sliced. a few minutes later the onion rings came... not onion rings,,, half an onion pealed apart, battered and fried( you only get 6 CHUNKS) huge chunks. OK, we'll let that pass, no biggy. the meal(s) arrived. she (girl friend) got the shrimp Fettuccine thing and I got the Chop House PORK CHOP thick cut with fries instead of sweet potato. the pork chop was thick but it was more like a country rib and it was RAW. UNDER COOKED... I paid $23 for raw pork,, did I eat it? NO. I would NOT feed it to my DOG. RAW PORK ARE YOU SERIOUS? the French fries were OK,, but you don't get many of them. there was also some apple tips in sauce,, it was OK, and there was a small cup of the nastiest tasting orange stuff I have even tried. the meal ended up coming to 64.75 plus $20 for a tip, I ended up paying $85 for a meal I couldn't eat. the waitress did offer to send the pork chop back and have it re-cooked,,, NO thank you. it was already disgusting enough without someone spitting in it. or doing something else to it. yea,,, I'll pass on that,, thank you. I don't eat raw pork at home,,, NOT happy about having to pay $85 at a restaurant for it. especially since I didn't even take the first bite of it. I normally leave a better tip than $20 for a good meal and good service,, but I got NEITHER this evening. the waitress was very slow and unattentive. never refilled or even checked on our drinks. when we were ready to leave it took a while to get the check and for her to take payment. the food was, in my opinion, UNEATABLE. totally disgusting. "pork the other WHITE meat". do you know why they say that? because when it's cooked properly the meat turns WHITE.. not pink. the restaurant was very noisy.. really loud. people were having to raise their voices to talk over all the noise. very bad atmosphere. there was some music playing but you could not hear it enough to make out what was playing. this is definitely a 'NO RETURN...

My fiance and I have been to eat here several times. We love the food and have never had a problem until now. We called ahead and were immediately seated once there. Our waitress came shortly after getting to the table. We asked for waters and we ordered a bottle of wine. When she checked our IDs she made the comment that the manager would have to come by to check them since our birth years are both 2001. Which is fine. We are both over the legal age to have a glass of wine with our meal. This isn’t the first time we have come to this exact restaurant to do so. She came back later and asked if she could take our IDs to the manager to speed up the process. We obliged and let them do their job. It was strange but my fiance and I both have legitimate license and both can legally drink. 5-10 minutes later the manager comes back with our license saying they can’t scan and that since we are under 25 years old he cannot accept our licenses. When I started to asked questions he told us blatantly that our license look fraudulent and shrugged it off. My guess it was all because both of our licenses are Mississippi but with being 23 and 24 years old we have never had a problem like this. Even with my fiance living in the area for several years now. He left shortly after that comment and we were told to enjoy our meal. Never have I had a manager talk so rudely as he did to us in this situation. The food here has always been amazing and every other time we have enjoyed ourselves, but this have caused us to never be visiting this restaurant again. If you are going to refused service to a couple you can do it with a better attitude and better...

I just want to say that our experience over the weekend was the worst dining experience I've encountered in a long time. I took my wife and my daughter's to chop house for my wife's birthday dinner. Service was awful, and food was subpar. First after a short wait, we were seated. Server too drink order and then we did not see her for a long while. When she brought our drinks we ordered our food. I requested our appetizers be put in first, but they came out with our food! So we couldn't enjoy them. My wife and I both asked for medium rare and medium steak. Both our steaks were medium well to well done. Two of My daughter's French fries were cold and soggy. Server did not seem interested in serving us, as she rarely checked if we needed anything or refills. When she did check in she acted like it was a chore to serve us. She brought check without asking if we'd like dessert. It wasn' t even that busy Saturday night. When I spend the amount of money that I did for dinner, I expect to be satisfied. Especially when it's for my wife's birthday! This experience ruined her birthday. I don't expect perfection, but I do expect to get my money's worth. I'm tempted to file corporate complaint and leave an honest review about our experience! Thank you for a terrible experience and for ruining my wife's birthday. Manager reached out gave me generic false apologies, did nothing to make things right. They got my money is all they care about. There are much better places to dine in Murfreesboro with much friendlier staff...
