Food Lion — Local services in Murphy

This store is a disgusting toilet how it is even still open I will never know...Upon walking through the doors it’s hard to tell what’s worse the 1980’s decor or the smell...Management treats employees poorly...witnessed male manager belittle cashier in front of customers... Later, I watched the same manager take a pack of hot dogs that was sitting on the bread shelf and place it back in the refrigerator section. The manager was clearly unsure how long the hot dogs were sitting there, so there goes any integrity. I have walked out of this store several times with bad meat and produce, so the lack of conscience on managements part is probably why. Also, there is a huge gaping hole in the ceiling in their produce and meat section, which probably drips all over the product, that has been festering and spreading for the past year. Every time it rains the roof leaks and they put mop buckets out because the leak is so bad! It’s just a matter of time before a customer slips on this mess. This store is seriously a joke! Do not shop here unless you feel like gambling with...

I ordered 8 items to be picked up. 2 were not available. I received a text saying they made substitutions but if i responded in the next 45 mins those would be removed. I immediately responded to say do not substitute-within the 45 minute window I was given. I received a txt saying my order was ready. Arrived, parked, followed check in procedure. No response. Crickets. 5 mins later, I logged in to see if they received my arrival notification. There was a “something went wrong-please call or come in to get your order.” message. I called, they said “ok, I’ll be right out.” 10 mins later, they brought my order out. The items I told them not to substitute were substituted anyway. All in all-it would have been much less trouble to shop it myself. This store cannot compete with Walmart and Ingles if they can’t improve on...

If you are a vegan or vegetarian you will love this store! They carry Beyond Burgers!!! Something you can usually only find in a larger town. And if you haven't tried them and are still eating Gardien, Morning Star, etc... try them out. You'll never go back! If they don't have them on the floor (back in the meat department) ask the wonderful meat guy..NO ... they aren't meat products... and he will get them in for you within one or two days!
