5-Star Review: A Hidden Gem with Woodfired Magic and Heartwarming Hospitality The first time I ate at Mystic Mountain Pizza while exploring the area when I moved here itturned out to be an absolute hidden gem. From the moment I walked in, I knew I was in for a treat. The aroma of woodfired pizza wafting through the air was irresistible, and the warm, rustic charm of the place immediately made me feel at home. The pizza itself was nothing short of perfection. Cooked in their signature woodfired oven, the crust was delightfully crispy on the outside yet soft and chewy on the inside—a true testament to the art of traditional pizza-making. I opted for their classic cheese and pepperoni and the combination of fresh, high-quality ingredients—tangy tomato sauce, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil—made each bite a burst of flavor. For those looking for something a little more adventurous, their specialty pizzas are equally impressive, with creative toppings that showcase their passion for culinary innovation. What truly sets Mystic Mountain Pizza apart, however, is the exceptional service. The staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was seamless. They were knowledgeable about the menu, quick to offer recommendations, and genuinely seemed to care about making our visit special. It’s rare to find such a perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. The atmosphere is another highlight. The cozy, inviting space is perfect for any occasion, whether you’re grabbing a casual bite with friends or celebrating something special. The soft lighting, charming decor, and the gentle hum of laughter from fellow diners create an ambiance that’s both relaxing and uplifting. And then there’s the owner—a true gem of a person. Wonderfully sweet and passionate about their craft, the owner took the time to stop by our table and chat with us. Their enthusiasm for pizza and dedication to creating a memorable experience for every guest was palpable, and it’s clear that this isn’t just a business—it’s a labor of love. In short, Mystic Mountain Pizza is a five-star experience from start to finish. The food is outstanding, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is delightful, and the owner’s personal touch makes it feel like you’re dining with family. I can’t recommend this place highly enough—whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s...

I get up to Blue Ridge once per year. I've gone to eat at this place the last couple years, and I always really enjoyed it. However, I went this week, and it just wasn't a good experience this time unfortunately. I just got the supreme pizza, and the dough was completely dead. No rise in the crust. In addition, they kinda overran the pie with cheese. I know there is a sect of people who believe you can never have too much cheese, but I think even they would have found it excessive. Ended up being really greasy, and everyone in my party had a bad stomach not long after dinner.
Very unfortunate, especially considering it has been good in the past, and the staff are all super nice. The dining room isn't bad either. I think they even have live music in there sometimes, and they have a bunch of arcade games like any classic small-town pizza joint should.
Maybe it was just a bad day... I don't know what to think. Always sucks trying to review an inconsistent place. Maybe give it a try if you're not sure what else to eat, and hopefully you'll get a better product than I did.
UPDATE:
I'm following up on the ridiculous response the owner left me. I want you to know that I actually laughed out loud when I read that, so thanks for the brief entertainment. I'm gonna keep this really simple. You served me 1-star food, but like I outlined in my original response (maybe you didn't read it?), I left 3 stars because of the great service, decent venue, and better past experiences.
To be honest, the fact that you didn't even bother to try to stand behind your product says everything I didn't have to.
I just want to make one thing clear. I'm not the one who served a paying customer bad food. I might understand snapping back like that if I had been nasty in my original review, but honestly I think most people would agree that my review was reasonable. I even tried to give you the benefit of the doubt and highlight some positives. Sorry you didn't like what I had to say.
And yes, to answer your question, I've left 5 star reviews for other restaurants when I felt they...
Read moreWAOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food was AMAZING and the customer service was even more AMAZING!!!! I have some food allergies and they had no issues accommodating me. My twin brother has none so he had everything regular. I had their summer salad and their Mystic pizza! both were just OH SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!! I do not want to exaggerate but I used to make pizzas for a living my self and having that high quality pizza was just what I needed! we were celebrating our birthday, me and my twin, and we did not tell anyone there, we just went there because we saw online that it was a must go to place in Blue Ridge. Men am I glad I saw that, because its not a lie at all. Everyone around the area should try it!! We got to talk a bit with the pizza maker master in the back and.....waoh, just amazing people in that place and amazing vibes all around! Our servers definitely made made me fell like I am still a human, because most of the time that I tell someone in a restaurant about my onion and garlic allergies they just think I am crazy and then do not even bother to ask the chef if they can accommodate. This servers though had no issues relaying the message and making sure that none of my food was even cross contaminated! I know this seems crazy but is things like that, that makes people like me believe that I can still go out and have a great meal without worrying about having an allergic reaction. My twin had the Mystic pizza original stile and he said it was AMAZING! No lie, I have had lottttts of PIZZA in my life... New York pizza
