Food Lion — Local services in Myrtle Beach

On Saturday February 27th at 4pm I stopped at the Food Lion ( my favorite grocery store) in Myrtle Beach SC. I was on my way to a mini vacation at Dunes Village Resort which has a full kitchen in the room, travelling from Fayetteville NC. I was not able to use my $55 worth of Healthy Benefits Plus card credits from my insurance company UnitedHealthcare because the manager of the store had NO idea what it was. This program has been available since January 2021. There's no excuse for her ignorance. This is a nationwide program!! I ultimately paid for my food with cash when I didn't really have to. I was able to use my credits at a Walmart in Myrtle Beach though before they expired on the 28th luckily. I use my Healthy Benefits Plus card credits all of the time at Food Lion's in Fayetteville NC so why was this "manager" not trained about this new benefit? It's all over the news as well! I was so embarrassed at checkout, everyone in line behind me was staring at me like I couldn't pay for my food. The manager also flat out REFUSED to key the numbers in from the back of my card and made me feel like she thought I was trying to scam her! All because she was not...

I stopped in this store today to grab some beach snacks & drinks, and our cashier was an older man named Edward. There was a young family in front of us who looked like they were doing the same, except they were paying with food stamps instead of cash, and apparently Edward was not happy about that! He rang them up and sent the on their way, but as soon as they were out of sight, Edward started bad mouthing them to the other cashiers and even us, who were the next customers in line! Instantly calling the parents lazy, and “living off the government.” I just shrugged and tried to ignore his ignorance. Horrible Cashier. Don't remember her name but she's the overweight one with dark hair and glasses. Huffed and puffed because I switched to her line when she wanted to go on break then threw my bag of dog food off conveyor at my waist then threw my change at me and it was wrong then I tried to explain to her that change was wrong she then proceeded to cut me off 3 different times telling me I would have to wait then proceeded to grab change then throw it at me then proceeded to argue with me. Seriously ? Who does that ? I told her does she have a problem and she proceeded to berate me. Who on God's green earth does she think she is. This has to be the same cashier as in the other bad reviews. Sorry store sorry employees. I'm not a tourist guys I'm a homeowner here and I help pay...
