"uBreakiFix Debacle"
This is my experience with uBreakiFix in a nutshell. I had received a replacement phone from Asurion, and I needed to get my data transferred to the replacement phone because my phone was locked and the screen was cracked. I chose to go to uBreakiFix because they are affiliated with Asurion. When I took my phone in, the representative told me it would be $99.00 for a data transfer, and they couldn't do the transfer that evening. I explained that I needed important files from certain apps, and I was told app data does not transfer. I knew this to be false because I replaced my phone last year and did the Smart Switch myself, and the app data transferred fine. I should have known right there the lack of expertise of the crew, but I moved forward regardless.
The next day I arrived to pick up my phone, and I was told that the phone Asurion sent out had less storage. I was told to bring in an SD card, and then uBreakiFix would have enough data to do the transfer. Upon investigation, I found that the replacement phone I received had the exact same storage capabilities as the broken phone and had 91 GB of free data after the transfer. When I arrived back at the store, I was told that it was because the replacement phone had storage issues.
Then I was offered to have the good screen on the replacement phone put on the broken phone, which is probably against policy, but it sounded like a good idea to me, so I left my phones there for another night.
I returned the next day, and I was told that the apps that were in question would not transfer even with an SD card, and they were not able to put the replacement screen on the broken phone. This was very disheartening. At this point, my hands were tied, and I agreed to have the screen replaced on my broken phone for $300, and I left my broken phone there another night.
I arrived yet another day to pick up my old phone with the screen replaced. All of the data was there, and I was happy to have my phone back. I got home to do a factory reset on the replacement phone to ensure no data was sent back to Asurion, and to my astonishment, I found that all the data that I desired to be transferred was originally transferred. I wondered why they told me they couldn't transfer the data.
I went back to the store to explain the situation. The representative was very rude and was getting very defensive, saying that we were accusing her of something. I asked her to please calm down and assured her we were not accusing her of anything; we just needed to explain the situation and understand it. The representative rudely stated, "It's my turn to talk." When we asked to speak to another manager and for the corporate number, we were kicked out of the store. I, in all my life, have never been kicked out of a store.
To top everything off, the phone they replaced the screen on now has battery issues. I could have it on the charger all day and barely make it to 65%. I am very displeased with uBreakiFix, and when we called the corporate number, we were assured that someone would call us back within 24 hours, but no one ever reached out from uBreakiFix. After everything, I can say I would never recommend uBreakiFix. In fact, I would highly advise against it.
Update.....
I would like to provide an update regarding my evaluation. I have had notably positive engagements with the solutions team at uBreakiFix, resulting in a significant partial reimbursement. While the management team may not warrant an elevation of this review to a five-star rating, their assistance has effectively alleviated the negative impression left by their in-store representatives. I am also confident in their commitment to implement further training and potentially enhance the customer interaction skills of their representatives. Notably, AJ from the solutions team exhibited exemplary performance. Consequently, I am inclined to revise my initial one-star rating to a two or three-star rating, acknowledging their commendable efforts to rectify...

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with UbreakIFix, and I am compelled to share my negative encounter with their abysmal customer service and their unjustifiable refusal of my Asurion claim. The level of frustration and dissatisfaction I experienced during this ordeal was simply unacceptable.
To provide some context, I brought my damaged smartphone to UbreakIFix with high hopes that their reputed expertise would help me resolve the issue efficiently. However, from the moment I stepped into their store, the atmosphere was far from welcoming. The staff seemed disinterested and lacked basic courtesy. I had to wait for an extended period before someone finally acknowledged my presence, and even then, their demeanor was dismissive.
When I explained that I had an active Asurion claim for my damaged device, expecting a seamless resolution, I was met with resistance and unhelpfulness. The UbreakIFix representative showed a complete lack of knowledge about Asurion's claim process and failed to offer any guidance or support. Instead of providing clarity and assistance, they simply stated that they don't work with Asurion claims and refused to honor my request.
The way in which UbreakIFix handled this situation was nothing short of a nightmare. Not only did they fail to inform me in advance that they were unwilling to process Asurion claims, but they also showed zero empathy or willingness to explore alternative solutions. Their lack of professionalism and knowledge left me feeling helpless and abandoned.
Furthermore, their refusal to accept my Asurion claim contradicts the very purpose of their existence as a repair service provider. Customers expect assistance and support when their devices are damaged, and it is completely unjustifiable for UbreakIFix to turn away customers who have valid claims with an established insurance provider like Asurion.
I strongly urge potential customers to reconsider seeking any services from UbreakIFix based on my dreadful encounter. Their customer service is severely lacking, and their refusal to honor Asurion claims raises serious doubts about their commitment to resolving customers' issues. I am deeply disappointed by their unprofessional behavior, and I regret choosing UbreakIFix for my smartphone repair needs.
In summary, UbreakIFix's terrible customer service and refusal to process my valid Asurion claim have left me utterly dissatisfied. I advise you to seek alternative repair options that prioritize customer support and uphold their commitments to...
Read moreuBreakiFix works for or contracts with Asurion which is Verizon's warranty company. What a HORRIBLE, absolutely unbelievable incompetent business to have fix your phone. Please take your business elsewhere and do not waste your time or money here if you have the choice. Here is why:
uBreakiFix cancelled the time I was getting my phone fixed, due to the FIRST technition at the Meridian location coming out and not fixing my cracked screen correctly, ONE minute before my 1-3pm schedule fix time...Asurion literally called me at 2:59pm and said they didn't have technicians available for my appointment. UNBELIEVABLE! My first experience with the Meridian location was pretty bad (you can read the review on their page) but this experience tops that. While I am on the phone with Asurion rescheduling, I get a weird e-mail from uBreakiFix at 2:56pm saying my appointment between 1-2pm was all set for that day and I could come in anytime between then. WTAH? I was supposed to have a technician come out to my house between 1 and 3 pm (and have several confirmation mails proving that) and fix a cracked screen TODAY because this company failed to fix it correctly the first time and now I am getting an email 2 hours past due saying I could come in for an appointment I never made or wanted? This business needs to gets it's act together. It's completely unprofessional, rude and a waste of my time to change my time at the literal last minute because you don't have the technicians during the time I booked. -For future reference, if uBreakiFix screws up what they have been called out to fix, in any manor, call Asurion and let them know. You don't ever have to use uBreakiFix to fix that same phone problem a second time, Asurion will send you a new replacement phone. I could have used that piece of advice before going through the hassle of dealing with this incompetent company again. I also filed a complaint with Asurion today about uBreakiFix's behavior on: this cancellation (AGAIN) at the very last minute, last visit's debacle, canceling at the last minute last time and trying to pressure me into buying all this extra stuff after I made it clear I said no I didn't want it.
This is a horrible company that needs to get it's act together, I am hopeful if more people speak up about their bad experiences and complain, they will lose their contract with Asurion and thus Verizon and we can get a company that actually cares about being on time, professional, taking no for an answer and fixing things correctly...
