My party of 3 came in here, overall impressions are "meh". Even though this place has a pretty cool gift shop, I'm not really that big into what they're selling there, so I'm going to skip reviewing that part. If you like little gadgets / gizmos, then you'd like to stop by the gift shop just to see some cool stuff. There's A LOT of stuff packed in there, almost overwhelming.
This review is going to be primarily about the food, so let's start there. We ordered the "Old Timer's Breakfast", "Grilled Sirloin Steak", & some sort of Pot Roast (I forget what the actual name on the menu for it was). I'm just going to keep it 100, the food was alright, but nothing really excited me or made me say "Wow, I gotta come back here again". For the price they charge, especially for the Sirloin Steak, I just kept thinking of how much better the steak is at Texas Roadhouse, which really is almost the same price. The sides were also kinda "meh". The breakfast option looked good, but really wasn't special as well. The best option out of the 3 that we ordered was the Pot Roast, that thing was juicy and soft.
You get corn bread or biscuits with your meal, both felt kind of dry but we were hungry so no complaints. I'd recommend the biscuits over the corn bread. The service was great though, our waitress was very polite. The interior vibe was cozy, they have a real fireplace going, and some old school decorations all around. For the most part, the dining area is nicely lit, to me that's a plus.
My overall feeling is a light to medium 3. It's not that this place was bad, it's just the food wasn't anything special at all, and the prices felt kind of high for what you're getting. Maybe I'm just not the type of person that enjoys Cracker Barrels in general, but I don't have any urges to be going back to Cracker Barrel (all locations, not just this one in Nampa).
So overall, the service here was A1, the interior vibe & feel was good, it's just the food was average IMO. I'm not going to go out of my way to recommend this place to my friends & family, but if they decide to come here, I'm not going to give them a hard time, because it's not that this is a bad place, it's just that there are better food options for around the same...

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆
I recently visited Cracker Barrel Old Country Store on two separate occasions, and I must say that my experiences were nothing short of disappointing. From the lack of freshness in the food to the excruciatingly slow service and consistently dirty tables, this restaurant failed to deliver on even the most basic expectations.
Let's start with the food. On both visits, I was appalled by the lack of freshness in the dishes I ordered. The ingredients seemed stale and lacked the vibrant flavors one would expect from a reputable establishment. It was evident that the food had been sitting around for quite some time before it reached my table. It was a disheartening experience to say the least.
Another major issue was the incredibly slow service. It felt like an eternity between placing my order and actually receiving my food. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and disorganized, resulting in an agonizingly long wait time. Considering that Cracker Barrel is known for its efficiency and quick service, this was a baffling and unpleasant surprise.
To make matters worse, the tables were consistently dirty. It was evident that they were not properly cleaned between customers. There were crumbs and stains on the surfaces, and the silverware was often tarnished and sticky. It was a clear indication of a lack of attention to detail and a disregard for basic cleanliness standards.
Furthermore, the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was far from enjoyable. The noise level was excessively high, making it difficult to have a conversation without shouting. The seating arrangement was cramped, and the overall ambiance felt chaotic and rushed, further contributing to the overall negative experience.
Given my two visits to Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, I am left with a strong impression of a poorly managed establishment that fails to prioritize freshness, efficient service, and cleanliness. I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience. Save yourself the disappointment and find an alternative dining option that values customer...
Read moreWe went to Cracker Barrel on Saturday night at about 6pm. We were seated very quickly. Our drink order was taken within 5 minutes and about 5 minutes later we had our drinks. The complimentary biscuits that come with every meal took a very long time to get, in fact we had to remind the waiter that we still wanted them. At this time we ordered our food which all came with side salads. We were actually unable to order the steaks that we wanted because apparently they were out of steaks for the night. We didn't receive our salads for over 30 minutes and our waiter forgot one of the salads(out of 4) and forgot the dressing for another one of the salads. We asked for the missing items and the salads were then brought to us with our entrees. this made it really inconvenient because not only was there not enough room on the table for everything, but we no longer even wanted our salads because our food had arrived. The mashed potatoes that came with two of the meals had a tint/texture to them that indicated that the meals had been sitting for a while. The meatloaf was also dry and tasted like it had been sitting for a while as well. The gravy that we asked for on the side had a very thick film over the top, which again indicated that the food had been sitting for quite sometime. We all also agreed that the pepper was over used in everything but also agreed that the chicken was cooked perfectly had the portion size for those were very decent. Over all it was a very poor experience and we even overheard another table complaining about never receiving their salads and the poor service as well.
Update:
Cracker Barrel reached out to me to try and fix this horrible experience by offering me a digital coupon for one free entree. ONE free entree!! What exactly am I supposed to do with that?! The experience of four people was ruined by this and their idea of making up for it is offering me a single entree which would only cause me to bring someone with me(cause no one eats alone) and spend more money! Poor customer service handling. If I could give them zero...
