I needed another key for one of newer cars. Most folks know, brand dependent, most cars from the mid '90s forward have some sort of chip that needs to be set to the car's ECM / ignition switch module. If the key is not set property, both the original and new key will not work. It is imperative the locksmith knows what he is doing and has the correct computer interface software that will successfully match the car in question. Needless to say, I was concerned when I went to this new locksmith location in Neptune Beach. Being old enough to have experienced much incompetence, crookedness and careless rednecks when dealing with many folks, I have learned to trust my instincts when walking into a business. At the outset, I very much liked Ben Simon's (the owner) vibe. I was still a bit wary, knowing that if the key was not properly programmed the car would have to be towed to the dealer. As it turned out - WHAT A GREAT EXPERIENCE. I ate a late lunch at Al's while Mr. Simon worked in the hot sun programming the key to the car. Mr. Simon is a class act that I would trust for anything related to locksmithing. The key is perfect in terms of physical fit and performance. What a perfect set up - have a meal at Al's or town center while you wait! I will be taking my 2020 Volvo over to Mr. Simon.
