My husband and I eat fairly regularly at Fancy Sushi. We love the food, speed of service, and level of service provided. Typically, I would give a five star rating for service because our regular waitresses are always prompt and do not rush us as we are eating our dinner. This review is solely based on the service and I must give a 1 star rating after last night's dinner. We had a new waitress, Rianna, who was polite upon taking a drink orders and food orders. What was surprising was when she brought us our check moments after we received our food and told us, "oh, I'm sorry, I thought you would be finished eating by now...no rush." Notably, we had soup, sake, two large sushi rolls each, and hot tea - all of which had just been delivered to our table. I was only two bites in when she approached with the check. As we continued to eat and were midway through, she came back over to get the check, which we advised we were not finished. My husband's glass was empty and she did not offer to bring him another beverage while he continued eating. Instead, when we finished, she collected the check and only then offered to refill my husband's drink. He declined. I mentioned to my husband that she may have been leaving for the night and maybe that was why she was rushing us. My suspicions were confirmed when she quickly left the restaurant after collecting our check and her tip. I did not appreciate being rushed to eat dinner when she could have either told us she needed to leave and asked us politely if we minded closing out OR alternatively, she could have just given our table to another waitress who would not rush us. I was highly disappointed in dinner last night purely because of the service, or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreNice looking place, I read a few reviews talking about really good service, so I walked in with higher expectations. They let you sit wherever you like, so I chose a little table I the corner hidden by plants. The server came up and asked for my drink order. Which I received quickly, not a lot of people, so that was good. Then she asked for my order and walked away, almost rushed, strange cause there were only two other tables. Took my order and just placed the food at the other end of the table. She didn't say anything, just walked away. I didn't get any soy sauce or additions. The sushi rolls were ok. They all had some sweet sauce that almost ruined them because of all the sugar. The server didn't refill my drink or ask if I wanted anything else. She just took my plate and brought over the check. Very poor service, she wasn't overtly rude but very uninterested, and was rushed out. The food could have been good if they hadn't drowned my rolls in that sauce. The place looked nice on the inside, though, so that's why it's two stars. I had two rolls, and my total bill was about 22 dollars. I'm just visiting so maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the food has nothing to do...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFirst of all: I'm used to eat great sushi in California so maybe I'm biased. I'm very surprised by the high ratings for this place, maybe it was just a bad day for them. Let's start with the Deluxe Sashimi: there was nothing Deluxe about it other than more pieces of the same fish, the cheapest kinds usually available in sushi bars. If you care about quantity more than about quality, the pieces are pretty big, that should be a bonus. For what concerns quality: meh. For what concerns beverages, 16oz Asian beers are in the menu but, for some reason, only 12oz land in your table. I wonder what I would have been charged if I hadn't point to the discrepancy. I ordered steamed rice and had to wait and to insist to get it. It was inedible, like something that had been sitting on the bottom of the pot. I'm sorry I insisted. The salad never showed up. And I gave up on catching the attention of the sleepy staff. I ordered also sweet shrimp, they arrived with the Sashimi and were acceptable. Heads weren't edible. All things considered, not the worst experience but far from the best. Lower than...
