I was rushed to Jersey Shore Medical Center. I told that EMS I wanted to go to Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. I live in Sea Bright New Jersey. I was having a stroke and they told me I needed Jersey Shore Medical Center because they were a trauma hospital. I got there and immediately they started their assessment and did what they needed to do. After that I was left in a room for 3 days the first day I had no food no water nothing was given to me to eat or drink. The nurses were nasty and they never came in when you hit the call Bell they kept shutting it off. Hospital was so busy they had people in the hallway it was unbelievable. If they know it's this bad the fat cats need to get off their fat wallets and hire more staff. The last time I checked this is the United States and we are supposed to be treated with respect and dignity. I also heard the nurses talking about other patients and making fun of them which I don't think was very professional. I heard one of the nurses talking about me and I called her out on it she was like a deer caught in headlights trying to make different excuses telling me it wasn't me she was talking about. I told her she shouldn't be talking about any patient in that fashion. After being in the ER for over 72 hours I was finally brought to a room. They really need to do an assessment on their ER it is poorly run. I kept asking to speak to the charge nurse. The charge nurse was no help and I told her I wanted to speak to the supervisor RN in charge. Once I spoke to the charge nurse things got rolling very quickly because I told her that I would contact the administration office. It's bad when you have to make these kinds of comments to get any service especially when you're sick with a major disability. P.S. Jersey Shore Medical Hospital doesn't even deserve a one star I rank them zero. I've been in quite a few Hackensack Meridian hospitals and this was the worst one I've...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis ER doesnāt even deserve one star! Iāve been here with my special needs son for nearly 4 hours. First they put him in a dirty triage room that my sister and I had to clean with paper towels and hand sanitizer. They left my son to sit in a huge dirty wheelchair! He had so much pain in his feet and legs from them hanging down for 3 hours! There were no blankets, no pillows and no stretchers available! The nurse was nasty when I asked and said itās always like this here. I listened to staff in the halls mocking patients. The only person that was friendly and caring was the physician! He was a sweetheart! Dr Eric Curran, you were the bright spot in our stay here and we thank you for your several visits and kindness!! I was told I couldnāt go to Cat Scan with him but said Iām coming because he canāt be left alone and needs two for transfers as heās a severe fall risk! And of course he was left alone to sit in the hall! He has a severe form of epilepsy and cognitive impairment! Staff needs to be educated about preserving the dignity of their patients and not call them darling, baby and sweetie pie! Thatās Nursing 101!! I brought him here because I was certain heād be seen by a Neurologist only to be told they donāt have one in house! I thought this was a Level 1 Trauma Hospital! My son was a patient of many years at Geisinger in Danville , PA also a Level one trauma hospital and he received the greatest care there always, no matter how busy they were! After hours, they always had an on call Neurologist come in to examine him! This used to be my go to hospital for my sonās care but I hope to never have to...
