This review is for the Jersey Shore Medical Center hospital- I've been to two departments and it was a negative experience for both. After care through their own network was extremely minimal for my first visit. When I asked for an outside referral that could see me on a more frequent basis, they said they couldn't give one. I was in a critical state and only being seen once a month was simply not enough, I needed to be seen on a weekly basis AT LEAST. I get its a business, but how much do you really care about your patients if you can't give them the amount of care/after care they need? My second visit I was told that a MRI wasn't suggested for a severe laceration on the front of my ankle unless there were issues down the line. They stitched me back up without the MRI/checking further. I was young so I took the doctors advice, thinking that a person with several years of medical training would know best and knew what they were talking about. I trusted them, which in retrospect was foolish. You should be able to trust doctors but it isn't rare for some to make "mistakes" or even misdiagnoses. Guess what...I should've gotten the MRI done. Better safe then sorry. I noticed I still couldn't flex my joint 3-4 weeks after the injury, meaning I was unable to walk, and got a ultrasound from my podiatrist. They found a tendon rupture. I had to be cut open again, have invasive surgery where they removed the necrotic rupture tissue and stitched up a second time. 40 plus stitches overall between both times, a massive scar later, and here I am. Ridiculous. I dont know if I've lost even further grades of muscle strength because of this mistake. I will never have full ankle flexibility again or be able to bend it back nearly as far as I once could/I can my other ankle. I was in a boot for 6 months. A half year...thats longer than most people with broken bones are in a cast. If I would've have been told to get that MRI just in case, to rule anything out or as a preventative measure I would have saved myself all that time, pain, energy and money. I am just thankful I walk without a limp now. Please go somewhere more reputable, I've heard nothing but good things about Robert Wood Johnson and had a positive experience there. If I wasn't panicking during an emergency or knew better I would not...
Read moreIf I could leave a negative star I would leave a negative X 100 My loved one has been under the care of Hackensack Meridian for a year and a half Numerous trips to the Jersey Shore Medical Center ER have been nothing but concerning and unimpressive at best Today’s visit could not go unmentioned While en route to the Hope Tower for treatment the patient experienced a seizure and was redirected to the ER No response from nursing staff to doctors requests or to the families inquiries No IV , no water , left the patient in feces for over 3 hours For this reason I am compelled to comment on another recent event that has occurred at this ill run hospital Last month the patient was scheduled for an MRI where the radiology staff allowed the patient and a caregiver to fall after refusing to move the patient themselves. They continued to remain hands off and did not offer assistance with getting the patient back up and did not offer medical attention to check for injury There is so much more to add but the recommendation here is if possible seek treatment outside of Hackensack Meridian and Jersey Shore Medical Center which sadly prior to it falling under this terrible umbrella was once the local...
Read moreMy daughter in law recently gave birth here. The nurses were absolutely fantastic, especially Michelle and Katie. Michelle prayed over my daughter in law , son and our grandson and Katie was so sweet and knowledgeable being a new mom herself. The main issue I had is the filth in this hospital. The rooms , bathrooms, waiting room in labor and delivery was absolutely filthy! I can tell you I was at the hospital every day for three days and not once did I see anyone on the floor cleaning. This is the labor and delivery floor , it should be spotless ! No excuses , you need...
