Mary Mary — Local services in Nevada City

Don’t bother. Just here to add to the general consensus of this store. Was walking around with my mom and brother, and my brother wanted to take a picture of something in case he wanted to come back and get it later and without missing a beat, the woman behind the counter in an extremely aggressive tone says “No pictures!” Like…. why? I’ve never had this issue at any other store, no one cares if you take pictures!!! Not to mention she was on the phone on speaker when we first walked in and seemed like she couldn’t care less that we were there. I never write reviews really but this just makes me so frustrated especially because so many business have come and gone in this county that just couldn’t last because it’s so expensive to own and operate a business, yet this rude woman is still here with her store that, sorry, isn’t that special. There were some cute things but definitely do not want to give my money to this woman. Anddd one more thing, while she was on the phone with whoever she was on the phone with (on her personal cell phone) someone called the store phone and she purposefully ignored the call and said to the person she was talking to “they always hang up right when it goes to voicemail.” WHY DOES THIS WOMAN...

Exceedingly rude lady works here. Such a shame. it seems like a cute store that I have passed by frequently, but tends to be closed a lot. Walked in today with my family after telling them how cute it is. The woman working behind counter was on the phone-with a friend on speaker. She asked me to leave my cup on the counter-I happily agreed after explaining it was empty. We could then over hear her conversation where she was bad mouthing customers namely me-to which her friend said you should spit in her cup! Then she had the audacity to bemoan “It never fails all day no one comes in then everyone decides to come in!” Literally a total of 4 people were inside. I will never return. I hope whoever owns this store will find better help, based on this experience and now reading other reviews this store is doomed to fail...

My friend and I ended up walking inside just after getting a couple fantastic chocolate truffles from next door. As we were taking bite out of our chocolates, a lady (who I assume is the owner) walked by us and in an extremely snooty, rude, and condescending manner said we needed to take our food outside. As we were leaving she said rather loudly under her breath "What, do you think I'm kidding?" Two tiny truffles. During the height of Victorian Christmas. Absolutely no Christmas cheer. She was very bah humbug and was the epitome of Mr. Scrooge. She is the meanest person I've ever had the misfortune to run into in Nevada City in nearly twenty year of living in the area.

Will definitely not be visiting this...
