Michaels — Local services in New Braunfels

This was a terrible experience. We drove in from out of town because my sister was sick and couldn’t make the planned trip to us for her birthday. So we grabbed the decor and cake and made the trip. The employees here were rude, the main employee was new or extremely inexperienced or undertrained. They wanted to charge us $2 per latex balloon to fill them. PRE PURCHASED. When asked about the large numbers we brought she just pointed at the chart and said, “ we basically go by the pricing as if you bought them here. The number balloons were $15. So, 12 regular, $24 plus tax and $30 to fill the 2 numbers. Mind you the supervisor and another employee are filling a bouquet of what seemed to be 10ish balloons behind this girl. So we were told we had to wait for two people to be done working on 1 set of balloons so we could be next? Really? They’re listening but don’t interject until the end. The girl recommends we buy a helium tank for $30. We asked if it would fill everything. They didn’t know. Ok well, how many does it fill? She (supervisor) said about 25 if you don’t fill them all the way!! Wtf? We never got one smile, we tried to move out of the way so she could process other transactions while we waited on my mom to come back with the tank that was nowhere near where the girl said it was and wasn’t $30. It was $40. She tried to ring up my energy drink. I said no. I’m Going to wait in the rest of my transaction. When my mom got back, she said, “ did you still want that?” IT WAS OPEN AND I WAS DRINKING IT!!!!! Yes. Yes I still wanted to pay for it and not steal it. 🙄 We got not 1 smile, positive attitude or anything. This was HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, PRICING...

I’ve acquired a small collection of 10-12 antique (15th-18th century) maps, some small some quite large, and my wife and I decided to get them framed and put them up in our Living Room and Library. We got great advice and guidance at this store on matting colors, frames, etc., and are excited to see the final products in two weeks. Update: everything looks great. A wonderful woman working offered my daughter a balloon, which was the one thing she wanted while we were shopping. It slipped off her wrist and before my daughter could be upset, this lovely woman ushered her over to pick another color balloon to blow up for her because my girl wasn’t keen on the choices she had already inflated.
