I am hoping someone with some authority to help will see this message. I have been having trouble with the people at the printing area for some time now. Your employees keep flip flopping on whether or not I need to pay for printing/mailing services. I send a shipping label to you via email, the worker, usually Bart, attaches the label to to an envelope, and I'm out the door. Until one day Bart charges me to do the same thing he's been doing since May 2024. So I mention it, and he just doesn't charge me. No explanation, just 1 min asking for money and the next, "oh nevermind." Weird right? Fast forward through months of no charges from Bart. A few weeks ago, a younger girl with rainbow hair charges me. I ask to speak to a manger. (short woman with short brown hair) She tells me when they get busy, they don't charge and that she is guilty of it herself. And that this is why I'm being charged on a weekend vs. not getting charged with Bart. Yesterday, November 14, 2024, I walk in to do my business. I'm standing there waiting to have Bart help me. He's having a long and drawn out conversation with a lady at the counter. It begins to occur to me that this conversation isn't entirely service related so I walk over to a younger guy with glasses, and I ask if he can help me. He tells me there are only 3 of them in the store. Okay, well Bart is over there "working" with someone else. "Can you, please, help me, I say." The guy goes over to the computer, and now it seems Bart is wrapping it up. After he gets the label I emailed, he tells me to go over and get a mailer. I tell him I have never had to do that before, and I ask him what has changed. (the issue here is that he has done this before, and if I don't catch it, then I am going to be charged) Bart just pivots and gets me the UPS envelope that my jobs has already paid for and tells me not to look a gift horse in the mouth. Unbelievable. That 1 action of you pivoting like that tells me I should not be getting charged in the 1st place and that maybe you guys are charging amd mot charging for some other reason?? I have anxiety thinking of what kind of interaction I will have with your employees. As I told Bart, it's of no consequence whether I pay or not. I just want some continuity so that I understand what's going to happen when I approach the counter. I feel like if I didn't speak up yesterday and other times, I would've been charged for a prepaid service, and that's unfair. The whole time, they were saying it depends on how busy they were when now I have a recording of Bart admitting that the label covers the cost of everything. This has been so confusing. I own two businesses and one nonprofit in the area and I love coming to my local stores because I am in a small area Kensington and it is a low income area that doesn’t have much mostly everything closed down so when I go into my local Staples and try to Bring your business, I expect to be treated properly. However, this particular time I’m very upset with not only did not once Staples member know any information on the business advantage program, and how to use your business advantage account which I have, but all of them kind of turned their heads up to me like is, if I was asking questions that they shouldn’t have to answer. And then I asked for certain items in the store, and they told me that these items were not available in their store, and instead of walking around with me, or helping me, they led me to walk around the store, myself, and find the items That they told me they did not have and of course when I went back up to the front and said oh, I thought you didn’t have these items now I am in the wrong for pointing it out. I will not let anyone make me feel like that because they are not doing their job and do not know what their store holds. I also pulled the Manager with an accent to the side and said to the manager can you please help me with something I am trying to use my business advantage account and of course the manager had no idea what I was talking about, so not only do I feel like the head of your store is not properly trained, but I also feel like they don’t even know what they’re carrying in the store, and could have definitely lost business from me because of their answer in the laziness to not help me find something and then the attitude when I let them know that I did find something that they told me wasn’t. There is unacceptable. So yes, I have been trying to keep the local store float and support but from this point on I will be taking my business which is very good to a different place. I thank you, but most of all mother nature thanks you. It takes a lot (and I mean a lot) to keep up with what humans do to this planet. If we all do a little every time we are out somewhere... for example don't walk past that plastic bag blowing in the parking lot...u have 2 hands, pick it up toss it in the trash and wash your hands when u get in the store your going into next...we can all make a small dent and it all matters ❤️. Nice associates. They're always willing to help my mom when she goes in to buy ink or recycle ink cartridges. Now let's help the outside. During a worldwide bird crisis I don't think it's good that while the robins look for food they have to deal with paper plates, to go containers, cups, straws...u name it hitting them in the face.
