0/10 If I could give this place 0 stars I absolutely would. My experience was completely awful! Before coming in I called to see if they would buy some of my old camera equipment. On the phone I told them what kind of equipment I had and they told me to come in. I get there was not greeted or asked if I need help with anything. After waiting in line for 15min-20min of no acknowledgment, I ask one of the employees(a younger man) if he could help me. Before the young man could answer the other employee (an older man) that was busy helping other customers cuts him off to say “He can’t help you.” I felt that his tone and delivery was very off putting and rude. After about 15 more minutes the older man continued to help other customers. Then a white guy(customer) walks, immediately the older guy greets this man and ask if he could help him find something. It was apparent that my business was not valued nor was my time. He finally comes to check out the equipment I brought and immediately told me he was not interested in buying my equipment. Then proceeds to “mansplain” to me why there is not a market for the products I had. Make no mistake the equipment I brought was not cheap and very popular in the film industry. Not sure why this place is called Camera Stop because they have very little camera equipment. Please run and take your business elsewhere!
Since I can’t reply to the owners comments to this post I will add my reply here. I find it very presumptuous for you to say that I had an attitude when I sat patiently for 20min without any acknowledgment. I also find it interesting that you knew you spoke to me on the phone without even confirming or even speaking to me. I’m not sure why you even encouraged me to come when you knew you were not interested in buying my items…complete waste of time. However, when the white man entered the store he was immediately acknowledged. VERY TELLING. The effort you put into responding to customers on google you should try putting into your customer service. The 2.6 stars for this business has is...
Read moreI wandered in during a stroll down Canal Street during my trip to New Orleans. I knew I needed a wide angle lens for my camera and I just wanted to see what they had in stock. The salesman there pulled out a lens that was a perfect fit for my camera and then told me that it was $199. I told him that was much too expensive and I bargained with him and managed to get it down to $120. I was a little suspicious after purchasing a lens from these guys that I didn't get a receipt. After walking out taking a few shots with my new lens, I immediately noticed that it was junk and every picture turned out blurry. I went back in demanding that I get my money back and the salesman seemed offended that I was unhappy with the equipment. After first saying "25% restocking fee", after arguing with him for a bit, he said "final sale, no refunds". I was furious! He wouldn't even look me in the eye after that! When I checked out online prices for this lens I saw it on amazon for less than $20!!! Don't shop here unless you want to...
Read more0 stars was not possible. This store is breaking the law. He sells you a phone and service as an "authorized dealer" and then you can't pay your bill remotely or with a credit card?! Verizon does not recognize his account either. What if we move out of state?! Avoid 100% and just go to an actual store. I will be filing reports with FCC asap. There are zero ways to pay your bill when Verizon didn't even recognize the account and you demanded cash only as payment. No one said its illegal to sell Verizon, i said what YOU are doing is illegal. Of course I'm angry. You are scamming people. Duh. You aren't that smart,...
