One of my favorite dive bars in New Orleans. The pours are great and the bartenders are laid back. Security guard at the door is a bit of a stiff but he's only doing his job really, specially since the age to enter is 25. Once you're inside the bar itself it's dark with a "divey" feel but if you take the time to check it out; you realize that there's some cool art on the walls and there's humor in its name with a few toilet themed seats against the wall. There is a jukebox that is always rolling and the back room features a pingpong table.

Our "Free Tours By Foot" tour guide brought us here as a rest stop and explained this bar is named "The John" because it's open during the day and most of it's visitors just go to use the facilities- pretty cheeky! Clean bathrooms, very dark as you walk in (at 11am it looked like midnight) but overall a good experience for a short visit. We did feel obligated to order a drink but we weren't too upset by it 😆

I came here to sit on a John while having a drink and I did. This is a Cash only bar but there is an ATM inside if you don’t have cash. Also, there isn’t any specialty drink because it’s a Dive bar. I recommend for the New Orleans interesting places to and/or if you just into seating on a John instead of a seat/chair!

-- This is a fun locals bar that is on the edges of the tourists, so it welcomes us, however the drinks are strong in local's bars, so they get away from people quickly -- If you are a tourist, then make this the bar you start at early in the day, and work your way back deeper into the tourist area as the evening moves on -- Personally we always walk sober out to the edges, then bar hop our way back to Bourbon Street -- If walking stay on Frenchmen Street or use Taxi -- Now go...

A toilet themed dive bar, yes please! We stumbled across this fine little joint on our walk home one night. We decided to stop in for one last drink and ended up saying out the whole night! Now, I'm not sure why the minimum age to enter here is 25? It was however nice to hang with a crowd closer to my own age. The drinks were cheap, company was good, and the bartenders were friendly. We'll be talking about this bar for years to come. Stop in for a drink, if you're in the...
