Food Was Great — But Treated With Disrespect
I brought my family here during their first visit to New York because I had a great experience in the past. Sadly, this visit was completely overshadowed by the shockingly rude behavior of one waitress (Asian woman, working the day we visited) who clearly had no interest in treating customers with even basic respect. From the moment we walked in, she treated us with open hostility — no smile, cold tone, a constant smirky face and an eye-roll as we walked out the door.
We were polite, ordered a lot of food (supporting their business), left the table clean, and even tipped 20%. There was absolutely no reason for the attitude we received. My parents were confused and hurt, and what should’ve been a warm and welcoming meal turned into a moment of discomfort and disappointment. We absolutely had no idea why would she act that way.
To that waitress: if your job is too much for you to treat people with basic respect, maybe it's time to step away. You ruined a meaningful experience for people who did nothing but treat you kindly. SHAME ON YOU.
It's baffling how someone with that kind of attitude ends up working in the service industry. She acted like the restaurant’s popularity gave her the right to be condescending — as if having a busy dining room excused bad behavior. News flash: it doesn’t. The food may be great, but no meal is worth being treated like you're beneath someone. I hope management seriously rethinks who they let represent...
Read moreI think I went through all of the stages of grief when ordering the Pad Kra Pao with tofu and vegetables (after I was encouraged to add vegetables at an extra cost). I had selected it from one of the three rice dishes listed, and had assumed the rice was fried in, but it was not, and served on the side (like it would be with a curry dish). I was finally able to flag down a waiter to ask if I had ordered the wrong dish. I had not. (Denial.) I then realized the sauce was slightly sweet despite having a 🌶️ next to it on the menu. I asked for some hot chili oil (Bargaining). To be fair, the chili peppers in vinegar that they gave me did help, but there was very, very little sauce and not much flavor in this dish (Anger, followed by Depression). To be fair, it did look like there were some delicious dishes on the menu, but this was not one of them....
Read more✨ Thai comfort at its finest ✨ Dinner at IMM Thai Comfort Food was such a treat. The honey ginger ribs stole the show. The wings were crispy, saucy, and packed with flavor (the crunchy garlic + scallions were everything 🥹🔥). The crab rangoon were some of the best I’ve had, cheesy, creamy, and loaded with real crab. 🦀💛
The curry crab? Immaculate. We absolutely demolished it. The Khao Man Gai (tender poached chicken with rice) was a comforting classic …simple yet soulful, especially when eaten fresh. 🍗🍚 The Pad Thai leaned sweeter and nutty with the peanuts, not totally my vibe, but definitely still fresh and authentic.
Pairing it all with a crisp Thai beer just sealed the night. 🍺🌶️ Truly a cozy spot for when you’re craving bold flavors and comfort all...
