Almost Ready Records — Local services in New York

Fantastic selection of used records and cassettes. I've always found the pricing to be exceptionally fair, and Almost Ready's stock in my experience has been exceptionally clean + in great condition. With vinyl, you get what you pay for...and I'd take an item from this shop's well-curated crates over a Discogs too-good-to-be-true cheapie every single time. Without fail, I find myself leaving with more than I anticipated. I always come across something that piques my interest, and I'm consistently impressed by their diverse offerings. Harry (the owner) and Taylor are both affable and very knowledgeable. They're equally happy to let you dig on your own as they are to chat about all things music. I find myself walking nearly an hour, no matter the weather, to come back here almost weekly...it's that good of a spot.

AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COST!!! HARRY HOWES IS A FRAUD A LIAR & a THEIF!! BEWARE!! He owes my friend ALOT OF MONEY which he promised to pay!! yet its been 8 months and still NOTHING!!, while also ignoring my friends messages!, he owns the company himself yet he think he can do as he pleases and not get prosecuted, DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE SAVE YOURSELF YOUR MONEY AND GO FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE!! The amount of stress they have caused my friend for lying ignoring messages and withholding money for this length of time is a crime!!! People like this need to be named and shamed for their actions, and don't deserve to have e a business where he will try and rob you THEIF!!! Almost Ready was the second stop of a scavenger hunt I created for my friend to celebrate her birthday. Focusing on things she loves most, comics, music, and fashion the shop seemed like the perfect fit. I initially called and spoke with Gordon who was wonderful and excited about my idea. Mitchell however was there to service her once she arrived. She was able to listen to vinyl records while there which was a nice touch. And left with Oo I love you Rakeem by Prince Rakeem (aka Riza) as well as some other goodies thanks to Mitchell. A big THANK YOU to the staff!
