Almost like any regular deli you would see on the corner of your street. Run down sign in the front and the location sits upon a sort of local community with plenty of bumps on the roads and dead ends everywhere. But once you go inside the vibe is different. You have about 5-6 workers on the counter side making sure everything is going as smoothly as possible. You have access to a wide variety of snacks all around the store that you can add to your order. I feel that is the best part of this place the fact that you can make your own sort of meal. For example my choice was a croissant turkey (not bacon) egg (over easy) and cheese (pepper-jack) with a hash brown topped off with parsley, grilled onions and mushrooms with chipotle southwest mayo and honey mustard. To add to the meal I also got a vitamin water (pomegranate) with bbq lays chips. The guy who owns the deli (Rahim mohammed aka General Ock) is a bit of a ny celebrity who does custom food videos with other wildly known celebrities like lil uzi vert and NLE choppa and also owns a dessert restaurant that is about 30 mins away called “The chocolate factory” which I have yet to review. I love the slogan they have which in every video he goes “surrrrreeeee” after the ingredients in the sandwich have been identified and at the end when they mention the drink or what we call “Bev” he goes “neva, neva, neva!!!”.

The experience was exactly like the video. No frills bodega setting with the steady and loud tenor voice of GENERAL OCK behind the counter “SURE, SURE!” Nodding his head and giving a virtual fist bump. He talks his way through every original combination of bodega treats you can imagine while the prince and the pauper wait patiently in line for their moment to be memorialized, ordering something THE OCKY WAY…. The sandwich actually tastes good and they help your creation with an added few ingredients that make the concoction palatable. The cost is a little more than it should be but expected given the virility of the moment. You might find parking on the side streets but I believe parking violations will leave you alone for the 15-20 minutes it might take for you to get your grub and head out. Overall “the ocky way” is an experience for the fans of the viral video and it is one of the few experiences that lives up to the first time you saw it on video. Go to Redhook. Get your camera ready. Make a video. And don’t forget to say you want it, THE OCKY WAY!!! SURE, SURE!!!

I visited Red Hook Food Corp (Ocky Way) on 8/23 and it was awesome. I had the chopped cheese on a Jamaican patty. You already know I had to get it the Ocky Way. I think the experience would have been even better if General Ock was there and making my sandwich. But the young men over there was good as well. So I can’t knock them. Sandwich was delicious and filling. It got me through the rest of the night. When you walk in, you know you in a NYC bodega. Seeing the assorted and old school drinks and snacks and what not. It just brought back my childhood. Overall, great experience. I’ll definitely be back. But hopefully Ock will be there and be able to make my sandwich 🙏🏾. Keep the great work ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

Okay, like most of the patrons on line for the Ock sandwiches, social media influenced me, lol. Parking was tight in the area, but I was lucky to find a spot 1 block away. I arrived early on a Sunday morning, and it wasn't crowded. However, I was in front of a large family ordering, so I still had to wait over an hour to get my sandwiches.

It was cool watching the two guys being the counter work very hard to prepare the customers' customized ock sandwiches. I had already eaten breakfast, so I was getting lunch for later. However, those honey bun bacon egg and cheese sandwiches were looking really good. I decided to get the ock chopped cheese with turkey bacon, spinach, and spinach mozzarella sticks. I didn't want the tomatoes on a beef patty for a whopping $18. I ordered my mom a regular pastrami sandwich. Now, to the real deal, the taste? I'm honestly shocked how tasty and fulfilling my ock sandwich was because all the ingredients together were very pleasing. The beef patty crust held together, and I was able to enjoy my sandwiches as a whole, and it was delicious. My mom enjoyed her pastrami sandwich.

What I enjoyed about this spot is the customer service. The staff gave each customer ordering the ock sandwiches a little show and time to get their videos, which was cool. However, they could definitely use more staff because when I left, there were about 10 people behind me, and they were going to be in for a long wait. Definitely come early. I would return again to check out some other ock the...

I’ve seen too many of these TikTok’s not to check this place out especially since I was staying in Brooklyn.

The hype was met; although not a celeb, couldn’t tell the difference with the service. Timely, friendly, and they hit me with all the Ocky lingo!

Kept it simple this time around; being in the morning, had the bacon egg and cheese on the Jamaican patty. I’ve seen folks get crazy which was tempting but so many options, and I’m too indecisive. The flavors were nice and the hashbrown and melted cheese added that extra kick to the profiles. Also if you don’t get the honey bun option, some syrup to dip is a great addition. Definitely will have you saying OMG!

The portion is actually pretty hearty; I was ready to pack it up and save half for later so I may recommend splitting with someone.

I ended up eating at a park down the way which was fine so be ready to look for a spot to eat or take it back to wherever you’re staying.

Overall, my next visit, imma shake it up and go crazy with the assortment of toppings and chips. And of course, can’t forget the Bev....
