Okay, like most of the patrons on line for the Ock sandwiches, social media influenced me, lol. Parking was tight in the area, but I was lucky to find a spot 1 block away. I arrived early on a Sunday morning, and it wasn't crowded. However, I was in front of a large family ordering, so I still had to wait over an hour to get my sandwiches.
It was cool watching the two guys being the counter work very hard to prepare the customers' customized ock sandwiches. I had already eaten breakfast, so I was getting lunch for later. However, those honey bun bacon egg and cheese sandwiches were looking really good. I decided to get the ock chopped cheese with turkey bacon, spinach, and spinach mozzarella sticks. I didn't want the tomatoes on a beef patty for a whopping $18. I ordered my mom a regular pastrami sandwich. Now, to the real deal, the taste? I'm honestly shocked how tasty and fulfilling my ock sandwich was because all the ingredients together were very pleasing. The beef patty crust held together, and I was able to enjoy my sandwiches as a whole, and it was delicious. My mom enjoyed her pastrami sandwich.
What I enjoyed about this spot is the customer service. The staff gave each customer ordering the ock sandwiches a little show and time to get their videos, which was cool. However, they could definitely use more staff because when I left, there were about 10 people behind me, and they were going to be in for a long wait. Definitely come early. I would return again to check out some other ock the...
Read moreAlmost like any regular deli you would see on the corner of your street. Run down sign in the front and the location sits upon a sort of local community with plenty of bumps on the roads and dead ends everywhere. But once you go inside the vibe is different. You have about 5-6 workers on the counter side making sure everything is going as smoothly as possible. You have access to a wide variety of snacks all around the store that you can add to your order. I feel that is the best part of this place the fact that you can make your own sort of meal. For example my choice was a croissant turkey (not bacon) egg (over easy) and cheese (pepper-jack) with a hash brown topped off with parsley, grilled onions and mushrooms with chipotle southwest mayo and honey mustard. To add to the meal I also got a vitamin water (pomegranate) with bbq lays chips. The guy who owns the deli (Rahim mohammed aka General Ock) is a bit of a ny celebrity who does custom food videos with other wildly known celebrities like lil uzi vert and NLE choppa and also owns a dessert restaurant that is about 30 mins away called âThe chocolate factoryâ which I have yet to review. I love the slogan they have which in every video he goes âsurrrrreeeeeâ after the ingredients in the sandwich have been identified and at the end when they mention the drink or what we call âBevâ he goes âneva,...
Read moreIâve seen too many of these TikTokâs not to check this place out especially since I was staying in Brooklyn.
The hype was met; although not a celeb, couldnât tell the difference with the service. Timely, friendly, and they hit me with all the Ocky lingo!
Kept it simple this time around; being in the morning, had the bacon egg and cheese on the Jamaican patty. Iâve seen folks get crazy which was tempting but so many options, and Iâm too indecisive. The flavors were nice and the hashbrown and melted cheese added that extra kick to the profiles. Also if you donât get the honey bun option, some syrup to dip is a great addition. Definitely will have you saying OMG!
The portion is actually pretty hearty; I was ready to pack it up and save half for later so I may recommend splitting with someone.
I ended up eating at a park down the way which was fine so be ready to look for a spot to eat or take it back to wherever youâre staying.
Overall, my next visit, imma shake it up and go crazy with the assortment of toppings and chips. And of course, canât forget the Bev....
