My boyfriend and I made an appointment last week to come in and look at engagement rings. The studio is really small and they don’t even offer you a seat during your consultation. The woman “helping” us clearly didn’t think we were serious about buying anything or didn’t think we looked wealthy enough. She was condescending and rude when responding to our totally normal questions and she was offended when we asked about different prices, sizes and settings. We asked if they price the settings separate from the stones (which a lot of places do) and she basically laughed at us and pretended she didn’t understand and then said they can’t discuss prices. That’s a red flag!

She also didn’t seem knowledgeable at all. She had to keep looking things up and didn’t know much about the products. She also only showed us about 3 rings when there were tons more in the drawers. She also couldn’t even pick up the diamonds she was showing up with the tweezers and kept dropping them. It was so uncomfortable and unprofessional. She didn’t ask us anything about what we’re looking for, what’s our budget or style etc. She clearly had no interest in helping us.

She also said she would email us and follow up and never did. Really poor customer service. Definitely felt like she was judging us and didn’t think we could afford anything which is funny because we had a pretty high budget and really liked one of the rings and were serious about purchasing, but she never bothered to ask us. I had always wanted an Anna Sheffield ring so when my partner decided to propose to me, this was the obvious choice and he selected a beautiful ring which I was thrilled with. Unfortunately, just ten days after the proposal and minimal wear the diamond fell off. As you can imagine, this is the worst possible thing and I was utterly devastated. I sent the ring back but due to the anxiety, stress, and general feeling of bad luck that comes with your engagement ring breaking after less than two weeks, our relationship is in a very bad place and we decided to call off the engagement for the time being.

Throughout this, Anna Sheffield has been entirely unprofessional in almost every regard. First of all, it took over two weeks to get a proper return label as I live overseas and the sales person seemed completely unfamiliar with the process of international shipping requirements. Secondly, they are refusing to refund the ring-- stating that because the ring was sized it is therefore customised and thus final sale? I have read through their FAQ and policies 10 times over and no where is it stated that a resizing is a customisation (they offer a complimentary resizing on every purchase). However, they are refusing to allow the return, even though the ring had broken just two weeks past their return policy of 14 days.
