Noémie — Local services in New York

It’s taken me a while to muster the courage to write this review, but I hope I can save someone else the disappointment. My fiance and I shopped for wedding rings here on Feb 4th, 2023. We are both female.

There was one woman in the showroom helping us, and from the moment she opened the door to let us in, the vibes were extremely awkward and we felt like we were not welcome there. After she sat us down and brought out the ring collection for us to try, she sat there silently and just stared blankly at us, did not attempt to make conversation, or offer us information while we tried on rings. To try to ease the atmosphere I tried asking questions, eventually becoming desperate to just start a conversation. She was so disengaged and uninterested in us, and it really showed. The experience was so off-putting for my fiance that she stopped trying on rings just a few minutes in and sat silently next to me until I was finished trying on mine. We were both polite the entire time, yet the salesperson made us feel like she couldn’t wait for us to get out of there, nor did she even treat us like actual customers, because it was obvious she didn’t want to sell us jewelry. We walked away disappointed and saddened by the experience, especially because this was the first store we visited before anything else.

Being a gay couple in NYC had never been so uncomfortable for us in all the years we’ve lived in the city. I would strongly advise the LGBTQ community not to shop here. Shopping for wedding rings should be a safe and joyful experience for everyone, and Noemie was the opposite of that for us.

The Baguette and Round Diamond Band is a lovely ring! It adds a pop to your existing rings when worn stacked, or is a delicate statement worn alone. The baguette diamonds are clear and bright, and the cut is easy to see and adds depth. Compared next to higher-end department store quality diamonds, Noémie literally outshines the competition! Noémie's diamonds, even the small size, are bright white, sparkle for days, and clearly stand out in a crowd of everyday mass produced pieces.

After seeing the difference in person, I can't bring myself to go back to settling for less, and gladly save a little longer to be able to afford the high quality pieces that Noémie offers. I am so grateful that they sell pieces at the price point they do, especially for the visibly obvious superior materials they craft with. After shopping extensively all around the internet, and having the pleasure to see the Baguette and Round Diamond Band in person, I am confident in my choice to resist those clearance sales at the major chains in favor of heirloom-quality pieces for incredibly reasonable rates that Noémie creates.

I bought a ring for my wife recently, and though the ring itself was beautiful and seemingly of good quality, the fit was unique and uncomfortable to wear after a few minutes. After trying a different size, we sought to return the ring and we were unceremoniously told that despite being within 30 days of delivery of the ring (shipped 6/9/2023, tried to return within 2 weeks), Noemie would not honor the return of an unworn ring, but would give us store credit. Despite multiple representatives of the company admitting in several interactions that the return policy was not clear, and despite being very clearly within the parameters of their return policy as it is written, we have been refused refund. Unfortunately, we now will have a $1000+ store credit to a company I not only have no interest in doing more business with, but I also have no faith they will exchange or return future items. For a primarily online company that requires items to be shipped to even be tried on, this seems like a very poor business practice.
