I have a Mer Du Sud leather handbag that had to be stitched on one side. In addition, a Clarks leather flip flop that ripped I completely out from the side. While on the internet, I came across this shop. I contacted the manager Marcia via email, and she responded promptly. Marcia informed me that stitching for the leather bag, and flip flop could be done. I informed Marcia that I was coming from out of town. She informed me that the items could be mailed back. Which took me by surprised. When I arrived 5 hours later from Upstate NY, I was given information on how the stitching for both items would be done, and completed the next day. I informed the worker that I would pick up the items at a later date, because I was staying in NYC. Upon, my arrival 8 days later, I went to pickup both items. I was astonish, by the craftsmanship that was done. I'm still lost for words, by the finished results. I had to show my husband. I thanked the workers for their meticulous work. I asked when Marcia was coming back, and I waited an 1/2 hour too thank her personally. I strongly recommend this store to get your leather handbags or shoes done. Once again great service, and a friendly...
Read morePrice-gouging extraordinaire. Brought them an elaborate detachable black leather strap of a handbag that was fraying, merely required some very simple reinforcement in the back. "Jose" would only quote $80 for the "fix," which was gonna be him creating an entirely new duplicate strap when it quite obviously didn't need one contrary to the reply below. Very similar to the other reviewer's experience with a belt. If the "solution" is for this place to make a brand one from scratch for almost the price of the item itself, walk out. Seriously, it was similar in principal to repairing a shoe. Creating a brand new strap unecessary when the easy fix was merely patching the plain black leather of a strap with a fold obscuring the patch. They simply shouldn't be in the handbag-repair business. I might add the rest of the strap (not the part requiring simple patching) is tooled leather with all kinds of cowboy-type stitching and so forth. There's no way Jose had the technical skills to replicate such a strap--so even if I were to spring for this service (costing more than the price of the bag itself!), it was a set up for...
Read moreI'm not one who writes a lot of reviews but my experience here forces me to. Wow these guys are good. The strap on the handmade leather briefcase that I got in Nicaragua started to tear away from the bag last week. I thought all was lost and that the only way to fix it was to hack together some obviously stitched and gaudy off color patch. I dropped it off and three days later it was ready for pickup... I was legitimately flabbergasted. I have no idea what magic they used but after looking this thing over for the past hour, I can't even tell what side the tear was on. Spectacular work and very affordable. Do not hesitate if you...
