Funky Mexican restaurant with tasty cocktails and Mexican style dishes. We went here on a Saturday night (it's worth booking) as a group of 4. The cocktails were tasty, we had the Temerario Mezcal Tequila which was served with a slide of orange and also the typical salt around the rim, at $14 it was quite expensive but it was good. We shared the guacamole and nachos between us, and found there to be not quite enough guacamole for the amount of chips it was served with. The nachos came smothered in cheese and looked more like a pizza although again tasty. For main we had the pescado which was a tasty fish and came with rice, the Temerario burger which was delicious and came with sweet potato fries, and lastly the cauliflower vegetarian option which essentially is half a cauliflower boiled and then blow torched on top for a chargrilled effect, the cauliflower dish comes in at $25 which felt expensive given what you are served with. Friendly attentive staff who were helpful through out. Dropping a star due to the pricey menu especially given the vegetarian option $$, would give...
Read moreThis used to be a good, reliable place, decent Mexican food. I don't know what's happened to it, or how, but had a truly dreadful experience the other night. 6 pm. Empty, for happy hour, which should have been a red flag. We ordered Mango Mezcalitos and shared a plate of guacamole. The drinks were about 50% ice, 49% mango, which means the mezcal bottle was barely introduced to the glasses. We tried to order food only to be told, so time later, that they were out of both items we ordered. Our server was very sweet, but seemed oblivious to the facts of the happy hour. She asked if we wanted sparkling or still water. I said tap water was fine. We decided to finish our sugary drinks and eat someplace else. So we had two watery cocktails and a middling guacamole. When the bill came it was very close to $70. We had also been charged $10 for water.
There seems to be no management to talk to. To be out of so much food so early in the evening, and to have no customers to speak doesn't look good.
This may have been a bad one-off experience, but I certainly won't be...
Read moreThis restaurant is like it's website, it looks great but does not work as good as it looks. I found this place as I walked back to my apartment. It looked pretty nice from the outside so I decided to try.
I wasn't too impressed. The decorations are very cute with the mexican edgy style. It had a lot of tables but all together wich I really hate. It is a very common mistake that restaurants make in New York City. The bar has a lot of variety is true, but the bartender took forever to say hi and there weren't many customers consuming.
The waiter was nice and seemed pretty good at what she was doing. But the food took a lot to be ready. When she brought it I though she was joking. I oredered The cevichin and It was soooo small. Like they probably put 3 pieces of fish LITERALLY. I was in shock. At least I can say that the taste was good and the appereance looked cool. But they definetely need time to develop their plates a...
