Not a good experience to say the least.
I went there seeking treatment for skin issues and for answers to questions on some medical treatments. The staff and Dr. Ginsberg were unprofessional toward me, a hispanic woman. The medical assistant, William, laughed at me when I asked if a medical procedure, which includes using botox, would be covered by insurance. William told he has "never heard of botox being covered by insurance" and did not seem open to helping me by checking with my insurance company. He told me I should check with them myself, but he is âpretty sureâ they wouldn't cover the procedure. William also made it a point to tell me the high cost of botox although I did not ask.
Dr. Ginsberg came in a took a brief look at my skin and offered me some suggestions to resolve the issues. Regarding the medical procedure using botox, Dr. Ginsberg said that even if insurance does agree to cover it, he will not do it anyway because he doesn't want to get "screwed" by insurance companies. Also, adding that in the past insurance companies âscrewedâ him by not paying him for a service he provided a patient. He was okay to treat me if I paid fully out-of-pocket however. I do not think it was professional or even ethical for Dr. Ginsberg to tell me this. If a patient has insurance that would cover a medical procedure, why wouldn't a doctor help them with their issue?
He recommended I visit an "academic dermatologist" at like, âNYUâ to help me with my issue because he and his many colleagues do not accept insurance for botox even if for a medical issue. I did mention to him that another top NYC dermatologist I visited previously treated me with botox for my medical issue and the procedure was covered by insurance. My insurance actually shipped boxes of botox to my other dermatologist to help me with my issue. I should have just visited my original dermatologist, but I chose this office closer to me â this was a mistake! I felt dejected and shocked when I left the office and I do not feel that I was treated professionally, ethically or with kindness. I will never go back to this office and I have a feeling they would prefer...
Read moreAfter three visits, several creams, antibiotics and anti-yeast meds, some costly and not covered (I have top tier United Healthcare)still cracking and peeling on my right hand and it also had spread some. Another cream was prescribed. It was $90 bucks and another culture was being done (did the first not work?) so again "a chance it will work but who knows"....I decided not for $90 bucks and not really knoing yet what was up. All were friendly and helpful but to what end? I was also told the next step might be a biopsy and that that would be painful and that then the actual doctor would take a look. I've seen assistants and nurse practitioners before - they have been fine. The confounding and unresolved nature of my actual condition should have had the doctor see me sooner. I started to feel like a guinea pig for all the trials. Then, after I had canceled the upcoming appointment. I received an email from the culture lab (which I did not receive for the first culture - consistency anyone???) and a call from the office telling me the lab results were in. I called and was first told that the results were in but that I should be connected do someone who could better talk about that. The staff member I spoke to told me that the labs were negative and asked me if I wanted to come in for the biopsy and see the doctor. These questions, and communications -all after Iâd said Iâd already canceled and was not coming in and would be looking elsewhere. I wonder if any information is conveyed? I may look for a more pathology oriented office. Hopefully a less vanity procedure oriented place. - a more medical and skin condition place with a doctor who actually sees you before 6 weeks have passed. And hopefully an office where information is better conveyed and shared...
Read moreAs a professional in the wedding business, I speak, I am photographed, and I have video taken of me daily. My appearance is not only important to me, but also my couples. I started to explore some possible cosmetic procedures and consulted with 8 doctors. Each had a different approach. Most being very aggressive, uninformative, and about upselling additional services & procedures. Just when I was disillusioned, confused and in the âletâs just forget about thisâ mindset, I found Dr. Michael Eidelman at Chelsea Skin & Laser.
After hours of reviewing information online, I was beyond impressed. Dr. Michael Eidelman surpassed all other doctors I had previously consulted with. His education, experience, and teaching of other professionals, was beyond impressive. Immediately I knew this was the doctor for me!
I guess I should mention that I live in upstate NY and his office is in NYC. But if you want the best, then distance should not be an issue. I have now traveled twice, via car, train and then subway to see Dr. Michael Eidelman at Chelsea Skin & Laser. Each time he listened to me, answered questions, explained procedures, and then proceeded with treatments. So, if you are getting the impression that I am a big fan of Dr. Eidelman, AJ, and the staff at Chelsea Skin & LaserâŠ.YOU ARE 100% CORRECT!
If you want the best look no further. THIS IS THE BEST! So, walk, ride a bike, take Lyft or Uber, hop on MTA or Amtrak, or drive your car (parking available across the street) to Dr. Michael Eidelman at Chelsea Skin & Laser. Thank you Dr....
