First off I thought the workout was great. This review is about an instructor. I work out every day through ClassPass, so I often have different instructors. Chuck was my instructor, and while it’s not uncommon for teachers to make physical adjustments without asking for consent to touch me first, his approach was noticeably intense. The first time he made an adjustment, he grabbed me very firmly—harder than any instructor I’ve had before. It was really off-putting and that’s why it was particularly noticeable. It was my feet and legs, but the forcefulness made me uncomfortable.
The next time he approached me, he started explaining something and moved closer to touch me again. As he was coming closer, I was clearly trying to move away and avoid being touched and just wanted to listen to his adjustment. When he continued moving toward me, I finally asked him not to touch me. After that, the vibe shifted, and I felt uncomfortable for the rest of the class. Even after class, when I was cleaning off my machine, and he came over to tell me about the class schedule because it was my first time there. I told him I already saw the weekly schedule, but he insisted, saying, “Can I tell you anyway?” I replied that I was in a rush. He then told me that I still needed to finish cleaning my machine for some reason—even though I was already doing that while he was talking to me. That just felt weird to me and unnecessary. I was dismissive when he wanted to talk about the other classes but only because I had been uncomfortable.
To be clear, I have no issue with physical adjustments when consent is given, and I’ve had great experiences with male instructors in the past. This was my first time at BodyRok, and I’ve heard great things about it, but I wouldn’t recommend this instructor based on...
Read moreBEWARE - REQUIRES YOU TO LEAVE CREDIT CARD ON FILE THEN CHARGES CREDIT CARD WITHOUT NOTIFICATION OR EXPLANATION. I have been a client of Bodyrok’s through Classpass for over 1.5 years, regularly attending classes about ~one time per week. Beginning in February 2025 they emailed all clients to ask for you to leave a credit card on file. Ok, thought this was strange but everyone was required to do so so I complied when I attended my class in late February. Two days later I noticed I had a $15.00 charge and a receipt of the charge sent to my email without explanation of what the charge was for. I was not notified upon providing my card that I would be charged or asked to be charged. I emailed the studio and was told it was a late cancellation fee charge from a prior class that I missed. However - I had booked the class through Classpass and paid a late cancellation fee of $28.00 already on Classpass. When I book a class through a different platform, all payments should be made through that platform and the studio itself should not be making additional charges. I have never had to make class-related payments to studios when booking through Classpass for the last 2+ years, so I was shocked to find this out. Given this extremely negative and shady business practice of charging credit cards on file with no explanation, I would warn clients to check your credit card bills closely for...
Read moreI think I just found my favorite Pilates class ever, and I have tried SolidCore, SLT, and plenty of other studios. Taylor’s BodyRok class had the best cueing I have experienced. For the first time, I was not confused about what was coming next or scrambling to catch up if I paused to breathe. Her instructions were clear, well-paced, and easy to follow.
One detail I really appreciated was the projector that displayed each move, so if you forgot the name or needed a quick visual, it was right there. The class truly felt all levels. Beginners could modify comfortably, while more advanced participants had options to make it more challenging.
The studio itself is beautiful with great lighting that adds to the atmosphere. The sound balance was perfect, with music that was energizing but never overpowered Taylor’s voice. Everything was clean and neat, and unlike some other Pilates studios where it is too dark to see, I could actually see the instructor and my form the whole time.
The only thing I wished for was some post-class refresh options in the bathroom. There are no showers, so even just facial wipes, spray deodorant, or something similar would have been nice, especially since I had to run to another appointment while drenched.
Overall, this was an amazing class, a great instructor, and a studio I will absolutely be...
