My boyfriend and I came by for an after-work weekday date dinner. The restaurant was empty when we got here so he had the place to ourselves. The interior decor is beautiful and their attention to detail from the decorating to the silverware was a delight. Don't forget to check out the floors!
We ordered the Neorangnarang BBQ set for 2 people and got the pork belly, marinated beef rib, rib eye, and the grilled corn cheese with it. We also ordered a rice to share ($2) and the meal came with a bunch of free banchan (), side dishes, which is very traditional for Korean meals. We were initially worried it wouldn't be enough food but we were quickly proved wrong. The portion sizes weren't massive but would leave any average adult feeling satisfied with their meal.
Our waitress cooked our meats for us starting with the rib eye, which is asked for medium-rare. The rib eye was very good and juicy, a great start to the meal. When we were almost done with the rib eye, she started cooking the marinated beef rib for us, which was very sweet and flavorful. The waitress then switched out our grill top for a round pan and cooked us our pork belly along with all the vegetables. The result was a stir fry of vegetables in the pork belly fat (delicious!) and some thinly sliced pork belly which was delicious to eat with the kimchi.
The staff were all very friendly and were very polite. This place feels like a more modern Korean BBQ spot with traditional and modern Korean classica. This would be a great date spot or a night out...
Read moreI love fun themed restaurants. This new KBBQ spot near Flatiron is perfect for friends and family get togethers. The big restaurant on the corner is very hard to miss. You walk in through a big wooden door. The moment you step into the restaurant it is almost like stepping into another world. They definitely did not miss any detail. I mean the ground was covered in pebbles!! It was like we were outdoors glamping but minus the bugs and animals and the clean up. We loved the outdoor glamping theme a lot. Even the eating utensils were glamping themed. We got to try a few items from their menu. We started off with the creamy corn dish. It was the right amount honestly. Usually that dish gets me super stuffed. We also tried their potato wedges. They aren’t your typical potato wedges. I love how they sprinkled Parmesan and crushed veggie chips over it. It adds a nice pop of color. We also got to try their wings. I love the soy garlicky flavor so much. Savory and sweet at the same time, the outside was superrr crispy too. Korean wings are my favorite. For meats, we started off with the prime ribeye. It did not look like a lot at first but the prime ribeye and prime Flatiron for three people was perfect. We were super duper stuffed. The meats we tried were so tender and juicy. We have no idea how they got their meat texture like that. You can tell they serve their customers with the best ingredients possible. We cannot wait to try other things on the menu. This...
Read moreI don't necessarily live in the area, but I would travel around the world on foot to get to this place. This was an excellent choice to go to, because of the huge portions, popping and rich flavors of the meat, and I really liked the wrapped marshmallows in particular. The marshmallows really added to the "glamping" experience, and the decorations of the place really feels like they brought the outside inside. The stone-like flooring really mimicked the texture of real stones, so it was really fun to just roll my feet around the floor as I waited for my food. The wait was around 7 minutes, which is extremely fast in my opinion. The meat platter that I had ordered was grilled right in front of me, and the assortment of vegetables were fresh, just from looking at them. I would have loved to sit outside, because there are little houses on the side of the restaurant with wooden seats and a grill, but it was far too cold in NYC. The fire of the grill kept me quite warm, however. The bathrooms were nice too! Man, the bathrooms didn't have blinding lights, and the cozy, warm feeling was maintained downstairs. The steps are a little steep, so if you're planning to dine here, watch your step! (There is a sign literally saying this before you step down the stairs.) I really enjoyed eating here, and when my parents visit NYC, this is the first restaurant I'll bring them too. Truly a wonderful...
