We purchased a mattress from Home Furniture and Bedding in Covington, La. It was the easiest and most simplest process ever. Kelley, the sales representative was kind enough, patient, and a joy in assisting us. We talked about financing she told us about two companies, and we chose Kafene. She put in my information, and in less than 30 seconds, I’m not kidding it was done. The financial process was simple. Before I signed the agreement I received a welcome, and a thank you from Kafene. They called me the day before delivery to inform me of the timeframe for delivery, and they were there at exactly 11:00 a.m. the delivery personnel was courteous and fast. Soon as they left I received a call to see if I was satisfied, heck yeah I am. Thank you Kafene staff and Home Furniture. Kafene has informed me of the process, payment schedule, and are available if I have any questions or concerns in the future regarding this purchase. I have informed the people I know where I purchased the mattress, and the wonderful company who financed it for me, and the cost is not expensive with a whole lot of extra fees, and for that we thank you. Read moreThis is the worse possible company to use for your purchase. They string you along and do everything possible for you to miss the 90 day window for the anticipated purchase option. Then they charge you 3x the price of what they paid for your purchase. We did everything possible to pay 2 weeks in advance of our 90 day. There was always an issue with processing payments as they don’t reflect right away. They never communicate how they apply your payment. We paid off the purchase and 2 months later receive an email that we owe $54. When we call them, they are trying to charge us $2750 because according to them there was one payment remaining. We called them on the day we made the payment and they told us the only payment remaining was the one that was processing. You call their customer service and they are extremely rude and don’t care to explain anything to you. I would never use this company. The only reason we used them was to not put our purchase on a credit card and have to pay interest on it. But these people scam customers of their money. They will go out of their way to make sure you don’t payoff your purchase before your 90 days. System issues, delayed processing, and a whole bunch of excuses is what we dealt with the whole time. If I could give zero stars, I would. This lease-to-own company is an absolute nightmare. They will do EVERYTHING in their power to make sure you miss the 90-day period to pay off your items without insane interest. Their entire business model is a scam, and their tactics are beyond shady.
From hidden fees, “lost” paperwork, and purposely delayed processing times, they make sure you can never pay off your items within the 90 days. Every time I tried to make a payment, there was some excuse—“system issues,” “delayed approval,” or they’d just ignore my calls altogether. By the time I finally got through to someone, the 90-day window had mysteriously passed, and suddenly, I was hit with ridiculous interest rates that more than doubled the original price of the item.
Customer service is a joke—they’re rude, dismissive, and clearly trained to string you along until you’re trapped in their predatory terms. If you value your time, money, and sanity, stay as far away from this company as possible. It’s a total scam designed to squeeze every penny out of you while giving you absolutely nothing in return.
