ANDIAMO PIZZA — Restaurant in New York

the old blonde haired european lady behind the counter set the tone for my experience here. maybe she is just terrible at communication but rude is an understatement. she refused to take my order 2x, as both times she mumbled (not words) to herself and then pointed to her right. eventually i figured out i needed to tell one of the guys manning the oven my order. i kid you not, right after that lady rang me up, a white couple walked in right behind me and did the same exact thing i tried to do twice…and the lady happily took their order and relayed it to one of the oven guys with no problem. i questioned the lady behind the counter on why she took their order after refusing to take mine and she just made a nasty face and muttered nonsense. the manager/owner (who had been standing next to the oven guys) came to her defense after asking me what the problem was. i told him what happened and he had the audacity to tell me there’s no way that happened and kept denying my claim, even though he literally overheard the lady relay the couple’s order to one of the oven guys. i can’t make this up.

as if the service wasn’t awful enough, the pizza was just as bad. there was oil leaking from the corner of the box, and there was still a giant puddle of oil sitting on the middle of my pizza. my slice of pizza looked mutated with all of the cheese rolled over toward the crust. unsure how this place has good reviews…there’s hundreds of far better pizza options in the city. this spot is...

The pizza and service were awful. It was my first time in NY, and this was the worst pizza I've ever had! I've eaten NY style pizza all around the world, but this restaurant in NYC had the worst. The Buffalo pizza I bought was excessively salty and tasted terrible—possibly expired or just overloaded with salt. The BBQ-flavored half was slightly better, though still too sweet. I ended up throwing the Buffalo half away. When I asked for a refund, as we had only tasted a small part, they claimed this was their usual standard.

Not recommended at all! Replying to Andiamo on their recent response on my review:

We were total of 9 people divided into 2 groups. Our group ordered 1 Large Pizza, half was BBQ and half was Buffalo. The other group ordered their own. Don't try to cover this with false information. Go and look at your records of what we ordered. I had just taken 2 bites from a single piece after which I found out the horrible taste! Stop posting false information that I couldn't eat all and threw the Pizza away. Why would I throw the pizza away if it tasted well??? I would have done a takeout if I was full. Learn to take criticisms and improve rather than blaming the customer. You should go back and look at the CCTV footage of what happened rather than misleading the public. Adding a photo to show...

This is a really small storefront and I think it s a satellite store of their storefront a little farther away but it was still great! Because it’s smaller it gets packed fast but the frantic energy is just so NYC. Orders are flying, people are talking, and pizza is being reheated! In all seriousness, this place is great for a quick, cheap, filling bite to eat. Our flight got delayed so we didn’t check into our hotel until 1 am. Thankfully this place is open until 5am on Saturday. It was packed when we arrived but the line moved quickly. You have to tell to be heard and you basically just point at the pizza slices you want. If they just came out of the oven that you normally don’t have to wait but if they been out for a while then they try to reheat it so it’s warm. Personally everything I had was good there. I had the chicken Parmesan pizza and the vegetable pizza but I will say that the better tasting pizza slices were the ones that had just come out of the oven. We also tried the garlic knots, which were just sitting in a bowl of front and you could see the butter and delicious garlic just flowing over them. All in all for four pieces of pizza, a drink and two garlic knots it was $23 which is more than reasonable for New York and the pizza was really good and filling and not so greasy that you feel bad the next day. we will definitely be coming here again when we travel...
