I traveled from Williamsburg, Brooklyn to this business on a recommendation from a British wedding dress tailor living near by. I read the reviews before and decided this business sounded trustworthy with wedding dresses. I wasnât disappointed. âJâ fixed my strap on my dress and was able to get out all the grass stains on the bottom of the hem of the dress. He knew that my beaded dress should not be sent to a dry cleaner and he cleaned the dress by hand. đŻ He charged me $200. I thought it was a bit high considering it was just grass stains but a wedding dress cleaning averages that in most places and considering he did it all himself made me feel it was the best I would get. He seemed to take his position seriously and I admire someone that takes pride in their work. The wait time was hard for me as it was a month, however there were many dresses before mine and those dresses hadnât seen the ceremony yet and mine had her day. He told me that it may be done before then and to call which honestly I forgot. It could have actually been done before the month was up and I encourage you to call should you decide to use this business. The day I went to pick up my dress, I spoke to his wife and she was genuinely a nice and good person. They are a great couple! đâ¤ď¸ There was a loud and (in my opinion) annoying costumer in front of me and J handled him with kindness and patience. When I got to inspect my dress, I was so impressed with how beautiful it looked, I tried to tip him. He wouldnât except it, saying he was the owner and all...I still think maybe a nice gift for his wife if you are a regular would be nice. Itâs a rare thing to have such a trustworthy and kind business like this these days. đ𧧠I will always come here with my most treasured garments in the future. Thank you J for the amazing work you did on my wedding dress and thank you Mrs. J for...
Read moreRun from this place. Brought in an expensive branded cashmere coat that was ruined. Jay the manager did not apologize and was rude to me. He told me they donât have time to read the care instructions on the labels and that he didnât want to hire more people to provide a high quality service. They donât have business insurance, or so he said and he offered zero compensation. When I showed him the damage instead of listening or trying to help he just attacked me and implied I was a liar. He even went as far as blaming me for giving them my expensive coat to clean as they are only âa regular dry cleaningâ! They send clothes to a plant in New Jersey and donât control how the work is done. I told them it was an expensive cashmere coat upon dropping it off, and I wasnât warned that this would be an issue. Based on prior reviews I expected a good quality of service.
After that disaster, I brought the coat back to the brandâs store for inspection, and to another dry cleaning expert and both confirmed it had been mishandled and could not be salvaged. The texture has become very rough, itâs shrunk, there are heat marks on the collar and along the seams and it is discolored in various places.
The manager doesnât seem to care about clothes or customers. Donât be me. This place shouldnât be trusted with...
Read moreI have a vintage silk dress with flower appliquĂŠs I have been trying to figure out where to get cleaned for months now. I went to Boerum Hill because of the reviews with the dress along with some other items that needed extra care/attention to detail. In the end they were not able to clean the dress but let me tell you how happy I was with their decision! No one ever told me why they just sent me away at other locations but here they took a look, investigated the material and HOW the dress was put together then gave me advice for the best way to clean the dress without messing up the flowers. They are not after your money - they just provide great service and make sure that your garment actually gets properly taken care of. They also inspected other items I had to make sure they weâre choosing the right method and explained everything to me/involved me in the process....
