I had a great experience with Boris Mechanical. I arrived at work on Sunday morning (February, 2015) to find an inch of water covering our floor. I called and a live person answered the phone. They were able to send a technician over in about an hour (pretty good for a Sunday!). The technician was very nice and efficient. The water had already covered a large area of our basement and was seeping out from underneath walls in multiple places. He diagnosed our problem very quickly (a busted and leaking water heater), but still completed a thorough inspection of the building to confirm. He was extremely patient with me, even when I was not exactly sure where the shut off for the main water line was. (He found it!) The technician removed the water, picked up and installed the new water heater and tested it to make sure it was working all within the same day. The building I work in is a Landmark building, so we were extremely grateful for Boris Mechanical's professionalism and efficiency. If the problem had not been resolved so quickly, we could have had a lot of structural issues and water damage. I definitely recommend...
Read moreBoris mechanic is such a fraud. They told us we had to make a full payment upfront, otherwise they wouldn't take the job and this was their company policy. So we did make a full payment. After checking with department of building we didn't need to proceed the job we requested. So we asked to canceled the job since they haven't started it yet and we asked for a refund. But, they refused and did not give us any refund. We asked for partial refund as Boris mechanic didn't do anything. We didn't get any refund and wasted our $4000, they were the one who was yelling at us. They were so rude, had no conscience, and had no business ethics. They were just taking advantages from us since we were not native speakers. Definitely, they were the worst contractor I ever worked with and I am writing this review to prevent any victims like me. This incident happened last year, I still think this is very unfair!!!!! And, I want my...
Read moreThe company would not send anyone out to assess my issue, but told me that they would not be able to provide me a quote or a ballpark over the phone other than to say it would cost $250/hour for whatever needed to be done, plus materials. The issue likely involves a pretty invasive fix, cutting into walls etc. If they won't look at the problem and give me an idea of what they would need to do, why would I let them go in blind and later bill me for whatever they thought needed to be done? It's not unusual not to be given a quote over the phone, but they also won't come look at the problem before they want me to put down a deposit. I was hopeful after reading their excellent reviews, but didn't understand this approach at all and will obviously not be using...
