Camino Ways was a great travel partner for our 500 mile Camino Frances walk. Our relationship with Camino Ways started almost a year before our trip when I went through their website to obtain a quote for the last leg of the Camino. Over the next several months, we had many questions which were promptly and efficiently answered by Camino Ways that helped us decide to walk the entire Camino with their excellent support.
Camino Ways staff promptly answered all of our questions - big and small. The information on their website along with several telephone conversations helped set our expectations and ensure we were prepared for the trip. The booking process was very easy. The pre trip information was very helpful. We had a couple of questions during our trip which were promptly answered. Overall, we felt the price we paid was reasonable. Customer Service excellent - these people care!
Most important of all, and the reason I awarded 5 stars was:
OUR ROOMS WERE READY EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE 35 NIGHTS! OUR LUGGAGE WAS WAITING FOR US EVERY SINGLE DAY WHEN WE ARRIVED! CAMINO WAYS ARRANGEMENTS WERE SO RELIABLE THAT WE NEVER WORRIED!
As with any experience there were a few minor areas of improvement. A couple of the nights, our lodging was far from the Camino and the directions included in our packet were not clear. A couple of days, because of the location of the lodging, the actual walk was longer than the information indicated, which made a long day feel much longer.
We will definitely book with Camino Ways in the future and are recommending this organization to all of our friends and...
Read moreOur recent 9/30/22 to 10/8/22 from Vigo to Santiago was wonderful. The folks at CaminoWays had everything perfectly organized. The accommodations were clean and well situated. Every airport transfer that they arranged was on time and standing by for us when we expected them. The food options were just what we wanted-some were prearranged by the hotels and some were on our own. We had one transfer baggage issue that was resolved rapidly by calling the 24 hr CaminoWays help line. We also were not familiar with the procedure to call one of our pickups along the trail using our US based Verizon cell phones. One quick call to the CW toll free help line remedied that in short order. With CaminoWays so efficiently handling the details, the journey became much more meaningful. There was less (or no) stress on logistics so we could direct our thoughts to the journey. The people of Spain who lived and worked along the way were friendly and helpful. We met so many wonderful walkers from other US States and a number of countries. There was a real feeling of camaraderie throughout the journey. I highly recommend CaminoWays for your Camino experience....... They get my...
Read moreRead moreWe had an unforgettable time on the Camino Frances: 7 friends on a self-guided cycling trip from Ponferrada to Fisterra, all organized and supported by Camino Ways. Accommodations and meals were great; they were varied, convenient and a good value. Camino was helpful and responsive to our many questions before and during the trip and provided contact info for all hotels & transport. And don't miss the Secrets of Galicia Tapas Tour in Santiago de Compostela- well worth it! The terrain was more demanding than we'd anticipated for cycling (especially with a mountain bike and panniers), and we ended up walking some of the more difficult sections. The bikes did allow us to cover more territory (330 km) in the time we had, but if you want the Camino 'experience', walking may be a better choice. Also, if you have 2 people sharing a room and want separate beds, be sure to request 'twin'. I plan to do more of the Camino routes, and will use...
