CityTouch Licensed Massage Therapy — Local services in New York

I’ve never written a review on Yelp before but I just had to because City Touch definitely deserves another 5 star review. Rob is very professional (and nice!) and made the experience great from start to finish. I booked a couples massage for my anniversary. I did it pretty last minute and Rob was very accommodating. I communicated with him through emails (just b/c it is more convenient for me) and he got back to me very quickly which I really appreciate.

My GF got a massage from Rob and I got one from Frances. In terms of Rob, my GF said he was a little rough but she did say she wanted a firm massage. To me, Rob looked pretty strong so he probably just gives a really good firm massage. In terms of my massage, I can only really speak for Frances. And I thought she was wonderful. She listened to my concerns and checked in with me after. I asked Frances to focus on my shoulders and after the massage they felt loose, relaxed and pain-free. Both Rob and Frances were very personable and friendly, which added to the relaxed/comfortable atmosphere.

The space was soothing to say the least. It was a shared space with some kind of child care service across the hall but once you step inside Rob’s office, you can’t hear a thing. It is a very serene space and whatever scented oils they used were really pleasant. The place was very clean and the linens used on the massage tables were comfy & quality.

Rob's office is welcoming and peaceful. He met me in the waiting room with a glass of water, and made sure I was comfortable while I filled out the paperwork. His room is spacious and has plenty of natural light. He offers dried fruit and water inside, and also has a place for clothes and jewelry. He even has cell phone chargers available! The massage table is heated, and Rob uses orthopedic pillows to provide support to the neck and back throughout the massage.

In regard to the massage itself, Rob is skilled and knowledgeable. He has a thorough understanding of the musculature, understands the mechanism of injury, and is able to treat soft tissue injuries in a holistic manner. When I explained my workout routine (swimming and running, with some yoga), he was able to hone in on problem areas and tight muscles. He incorporated some gentle stretching, and gave me some stretches to do at home to maintain flexibility and prevent injuries. He used a combination of gentle and deep pressure, while remaining sensitive to my comfort and tolerance.

I honestly wish that I could give Rob TEN STARS! Rob is one of those rare practitioners that understands deeply how to perfectly blend the clinical aspect of massage, the deep intensive healing aspect, with the luxurious spa-like nurturing aspect.

I was really in dire need of TLC all over my body after an intense week of physical labor. I found Rob on Yelp and made my way to his serene and lovely space. His attention to every sensual detail (scent, sound, soft lighting, room temperature, yummy dried fruits and cool water afterward, etc) made me feel at ease right off the bat.

Little did I know I was in for a real treat. And all I had to do was relax and receive the loving care that Rob offers.

If you are wondering if you should splurge on his CityCleanse Body Treatment, all I can say is, it was worth every penny. EVERY PENNY.

There are all kinds of things going on during the treatment, but they are done with such grace and calm that all you feel is wonderful. Things are sprayed on, heat gets wrapped around you, you are scrubbed and rubbed and coaxed into a state of total surrender.

I promised myself that every time I come to NYC for a job, I am going to have another treatment with Rob!...
