CONSISTENTLY GOOD I went back to see Dr Loflin a year later and here's my new review:

I went back last week for a cleaning and check up. Dr. Loflin had done a crown for me last year. Going to his office, is not a trip to the dentist. It's a trip to a spa! From the moment you walk in till you walk out, you are treated like royalty. Jasmine, the Office Manager, greets you with a smile. Offers you bottled water or an espresso. Without a wait, she ushers you into a room with a sweeping view of Central Park. WOW! But most importantly, in addition to the water, the royal treatment and the view, this dentist has a state of the art technology. All is done, digitally and painlessly! You see everything that is being done to you on the screen: X-rays, fillings, crowns, ALL. Meanwhile, the doctor smiles at you and explains what he is doing in your mouth. Both, he and Jasmine make eye contact with you when they talk to you. I mean... unlike most medical staff and doctors whose eyes are fixed on the computer when they are with you. Then comes the actual treatment: X-rays, dental exam and cleaning. Superb! No pain or even discomfort. And last, but not least. Have you been to dentists who see your mouth as a profit center, suggesting treatment plans for thousands of dollars? (I have!) Well, Dr. Loflin NEVER does that. Jasmine agrees with you on a reasonable price (I paid out-of-pocket), and she honors the agreement. There is never a surprise. In sum: the atmospherics, the view, the treatment and the cost make you feel that you have gone to a spa. Not to the dentist.

Impeccable through and through

I moved to New York three years ago and was looking for a good dentist. I tried a few and was not happy. Until I found Dr. Loflin! All about his office is amazing. Jasmine answered the phone and was genuinely concerned about the patient. She answered all my questions and gave me precise answers. Then I met dr Loflin. Good people surround themselves with good people. He is also concerned with the well-being of the patient, and does an excellent job as a dentist. All in one visit, he made me a new crown that fitted perfectly at the first try. He has the state of the art technology, all user-friendly, and while he works, all is projected on a screen that you can watch. Really nifty. I must also say that the office has a stunning view of Central Park South. That in itself makes the visit worthwhile! We agreed on the cost before the visit. They honored what they promised and not a cent over! (I've been to other dentists where after the fact, I was negatively surprised with bills and "suggestions to do my mouth over at hefty prices.") The office was very conscious that I had no insurance and I was paying out-of-pocket. No surprises and no "extras." They assured me that the work was guaranteed for a year. At the end of the day, the doctor himself sent me a text message inquiring how I was feeling, responding carefully and consciously to all my questions. Really reassuring! I adopted him as my dentist. I just had such an amazing visit with Dr. Clarence Loflin. The best dentist in NYC.

From the moment I walked in I smelled these beautiful candles , and was welcomed to coffee or drink. I thought Jasmine, who came in smiling like the sun, was my hygienist but she’s actually the office manager - so kind and warm and sincere. She thoroughly explained everything and you can tell they put patient experience first.

The dentist Dr. Loflin was incredible. He was kind, patiently explained photos of my mouth, and extremely thorough gentle, considerate and attentive during my cleaning!! They even topped it off with a warm scented towel with a fragrance of my choice - I chose lavender and it was the cherry on top.

Even aside from the incredible view, Dr. Loflin definitely is incredible and this dentist visit was better than any I’ve ever had. I also was previously told by a dentist (a top reviewed dentist by the way) that I HAD to get Invisalign asap for my health, and I planned to go ahead but with another provider. To my shock, Dr. Loflin said this was unnecessary. He even made himself available if I have any questions after the appointment - offered. With his personal contact information.

He truly puts patients health, well-being, comfort, and experience first in every way. I would send anyone I love or meet to go to him over any other dentist I’ve ever seen. He is amazing.

Dr. Loflin came to me after a bad experience with another known doctor. The other known doctor over ordered panoramic x-rays, told me I had a cavity on a tooth when determined later I did not, and stated there was no infection but a different doctor at this other doctor’s site had told me there was highly likely an infection, which quickly resolved by antibiotics.

Dr. Loflin made me feel comfortable after this emotional experience for me that had made me question the healthcare dental system in NYC. It took me a long time to find a good practice. I felt Dr. Loflin's entire team was also helpful even during my 4 wisdom teeth extraction. Dr. Loflin extensively talked to me about my dental issues, even more so than my previous providers.

Dr. Loflin was also beyond accommodating, and to say the least he went above the extra mile compared to what the average dental provider would be willing to do. He certainly loves his profession and wants the best for his patients.

I am writing this review in addition to Dustin, who wrote the previous review today, due to we both had good experiences. I referred Dustin to him and he decided to continue with him instead of his previous provider. Dr. Loflin’s compassion, empathy, professionalism, and thorough treatment plan for me certainly deserves this EXCELLENT review.
