We had a wonderful experience at the Carnegie hotel. We were cautiously optimistic about our stay, never having stayed there before. It was way better than we expected.|| We contacted them ahead of our arrival and they helped coordinate a car to pick us up from JFK and deliver us to the front door of the hotel. The price was comparable to a Lyft/Uber. The driver communicated with me directly once we landed and told us exactly where to find her. All very smooth after a long travel day. ||From the minute we walked through the door the 1st time to the last time we walked out the door, the staff was amazing, welcoming, helpful and friendly. Everyone greeted us with a smile and answered all of our questions kindly and professionally, and |gave excellent advice! Make sure to use them, they are a great resource in helping you plan your day and navigate your trip! |(We especially enjoyed our conversations with Alexandra, she was so friendly and gave great advice and had the best taco's thanks to her, and that's saying a lot coming from a California girl where we eat tacos all the time!)||The location of this hotel is amazing. We walked to our Broadway play just a few blocks away. Totally walkable location from times square and a few short blocks from entrance to Central Park. Easy walk to radio city music hall. Plenty of places to eat with in a small radius . And subway is located a block away.||The extras at this hotel were also amazing.. complimentary breakfast (pastries, bagels, toast oatmeal and eggs and fruit) all day juice and coffee and tea, after snacks(chips popcorn granola bars all great to grab and go) wine and cheese hour plus cookies in the evening! ||We were extremely happy with both of our rooms as well. Plenty of room, quiet, and clean! The elevator were always available and quick! (Read a lot of reviews for other hotels that complained about the elevator wait times, not a problem at this hotel!)||Don't forget to walk away from hotel and look up at it. Took us 2 days before we realized the hotel is...
Read moreAll of the reviews for this hotel are spot on - this is truly a lovely little boutique hotel. Although it's quite small and has a no-frills approach to decor and aesthetic, it's much cleaner and more comfortable than many of the alternative hotels in Manhattan. The free breakfast + available coffee was a HUGE bonus. ||The only caution I add here which unfortunately A MAJOR CAUTION - soured my entire experience. Depending on where your room is located - the street noise is UNBEARABLE 24/7 if you're facing Carnegie Hall - particularly levels 1-10. I was on the 6th floor facing Carnegie - and was on a business trip for 3-nights and was literally crying in my bed by night 2 because I watched as the clock ticked on by past midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am, and when it hit 4am I couldn't bear it any longer. NYC Waste Management is located directly across the rooms (in the same building as Carnegie Hall) and they work around the clock with beeping trucks backing in/out, metal dumpsters banging loudly as each dumpster was lifted up and emptied, the sound of glass and heavy objects dumped in the truck and then crushed, etc. It NEVER ENDED. I had Sony noise cancelling headphones + white noise blaring from my iphone + a fan on - and even they couldn't drown out the noise. The hotel was sold out but by night 3 I was able to move to the other side of the hotel on level 14 and it made all the difference. I slept like a baby. ||TRAVELER TIP: The hotel told me the King beds face Carnegie and the Queen beds face the back. Do yourself a favor and book a Queen on the highest floor possible. I would have rated this hotel 4/5 stars if I had stayed on this side all 3-nights but unfortunately can't given my experience. ||HOTEL RECOMMENDATION: I would suggest that management seriously consider paying for sound proof windows if you want this lovely little hotel to continue with its high ratings. The sound issues will eventually bring the ratings down as travelers seek...
Read moreAbsolutely Amazing Stay!!! Highly Recommended! I cannot say enough great things about our stay at the Carnegie Hotel in NYC! From the moment we arrived, the experience was truly exceptional. First and foremost, the staff was absolutely AMAZING, and I have to give a special shoutout to Yolanda, who went above and beyond to make our stay extra memorable. Her warmth and professionalism set the tone for our entire visit. Our Superior King Room, though only 200 sq. ft., felt surprisingly spacious and well-designed for both me and my girlfriend. The room included two nightstands with large drawers, additional desk storage, and even a small closet that fit all of our clothes perfectly. There’s also under-bed storage for luggage. The room came equipped with everything we needed — a mini fridge, robe and slippers, and even an umbrella (a lifesaver in unpredictable NYC weather!). The bathroom was spotless, the shower was fantastic, and there was plenty of shelf space for all our toiletries — which is rare and appreciated. I’m extremely picky about cleanliness, and I was genuinely impressed by how immaculately clean the room and bathroom were. The bed was incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax after long days exploring the city. Another huge bonus: Breakfast was included, and at 5 PM, the hotel offered wine and a lovely cheese board, creating a cozy, boutique hotel vibe. Plus, snacks were available throughout the day, which was a really thoughtful perk. After a long and thorough search for a hotel that checked all the boxes: great location, excellent price, clean and comfortable rooms, and outstanding service. I’m so glad I found the Carnegie Hotel. Highly recommend!!! 100%! We’ll...
