I have been a member since January 2024 and taken almost 250 classes. On the positive side, the stuffs are very friendly and helpful. The studio is very clean and nicely equipped. Reformers are such a good requirements for Pilates.
On the negative side, the teachers could be a hit and miss. Most of the classes are not very challenging. I mainly use the classes to warm up my body in the morning. I don’t think you can lose weight even if you do their classes everyday. It’s very low-impact and toning. The classes are not hard core at all compared to reformer classes I took elsewhere. Nevertheless, I am grateful that there is a reformer studio so close by.
The worst part of this studio is its cold temperature. Many students don’t want to sweat even just for a bit. Even just being a bit warm makes them feel very uncomfortable. The studio compromised to those who make the most noises. During summer time, they turn AC so high that the metal parts of the reformers are cold. My nose tip is so cold. I will be wearing long sleeves and hoodies in a hot summer today. Today is 32 degrees. The staffs at the front desk were wearing puffer jackets with a heater next to them. The small studio inside was frigidly cold especially by the windows. I could feel the draft coming in. I was miserable. I put the winter jacket I was wearing, but it still didn’t help. I left the class early.
Look, if you are one of those who really doesn’t like to sweat when you work out, this is a perfect studio for you. But I think most of us would agree that we want to have a good sweat when we work out to detoxify and burn fat. In addition, I think most of us understand that it’s very dangerous to work out when your muscles and joints are not warm, especially we do a lot of stretching during Pilates.
To me the temperature is really a deal breaker. I hope the studio could at least offer different classes for those what want a warm room and cold room so that it caters...
Read moreI cannot say enough good things about Club Pilates Midtown East. I went the first week it opened for the free introductory class and signed up immediately for the Unlimited Plan. I have attended 4 classes a week for the last month and waited over a month to write a review. Every employee is kind, knowledgeable and friendly. The studio is immaculate, and the instructors are all beyond amazing. I did private Pilates about 7 years ago for about a year. I have curvature of the Spine from Lupus and have a week core, and it’s not too hard and I love it. The instructors make it challenging, but if you struggle a little like me, they accommodate you, your body, your weaknesses and make it work for you. The classes are small, and every Instructor gives personal attention and help. There are people in every class that are advanced to the weakest like me. It truly is a no judgment zone. I am 50 years old and after the first week of being sore, I have never felt better. The unlimited plan is money well spent, and I could not be one bit happier with the entire establishment. I am confident if you try the intro class and add one more, you will be hooked. The 50 minutes fly by, it’s so easy to schedule on the app, and even if I am waitlisted, 9 out of 10 times I get the class I wanted. They offer so many...
Read moreSince November of 2023, I've been attending approximately 4-6 classes per week. I find the classes fun, challenging and effective.
My body is noticeably stronger and tighter, plus my posture has improved...to the point I sometimes receive compliments on it.
Most importantly, I feel great! My energy levels are higher, plus I proactively seek opportunities to be more physically active (more walking and less Ubers, taxis, etc.). I am also thinking clearly, am less reactive and calmer overall.
The instructors at the club are experienced and knowledgeable. Big shoutouts to Maureen, Blythe, Hannah and Huma, who offer challenging classes while correcting students' form "hands on" to ensure safety and efficacy.
The managerial staff, including Lisa, Caitlin and Gina, know members' names, making the workout experience warm and family-like. At a regular gym one is simply a number. At Club Pilates, members have a relationship with the staff.
Finally, the mobile app allows members to book classes in advance. I love this feature since it keep me organized and accountable.
Overall, I am very happy with my membership at Club Pilates and feel it's an investment in my physical and...
