From the very moment you step through the doors of Il Tinello, it's clear you are about to embark on a journey steeped in tradition, elegance, and most importantly, indulgent gastronomy. In an atmosphere that is both comforting and glamorous, Il Tinello beautifully synthesizes a quintessential Italian experience that is equal parts old-world charm and metropolitan sophistication.
At the core of Il Tinello's allure is undoubtedly the food. The restaurant, aptly named after the dining room in a traditional Italian home, boasts an extensive menu that features timeless classics and innovative specialties. Every dish, from the hand-rolled pasta to the perfectly seared veal chop, is meticulously crafted using the freshest ingredients, with the taste truly evocative of the diverse regions of Italy.
The star of the show, however, is arguably the signature Osso Buco Milanese. It is a dish of unparalleled richness, the braised veal shank falling off the bone with the merest touch of the fork, and the risotto it's served with absorbing the delightful medley of flavors in a way that feels decadent yet balanced.
Equally impressive is Il Tinello's wine list, a thoughtful collection showcasing the best of Italy's vineyards. Whether you're a wine connoisseur or an intrigued novice, the knowledgeable and friendly Benny Bello is on hand to help navigate the impressive selection and recommend the perfect pairing for your meal.
Service at Il Tinello is nothing short of exemplary. From the moment you're welcomed in to the last sip of your post-dinner espresso, the staff's attention to detail, respect for the guest's needs, and warm Italian hospitality shines through. The group of regulars at the bar every night would agree - There’s no place as versatile as Il Tinello; Drinks after work, date night, or beers with old friends. Benny Bello’s Il Tinello is unmatched in...
Read moreA newish restaurant in the neighborhood with solid food. It’s been open for a few months and serves general Italian cuisine. The ambiance is cozy and the decorations on the wall were going for the Napoli coast and the Tuscany vibe. It is a comfortable and cozy place to go with your friends, family or if you’re on a date. I’m face all of those categories were there when I was there. I found the food to be better executed than most Italian restaurants in this city. It didn’t taste industrial, out of a can or a jar. It tasted like it was made from food which was a pleasant surprise. Since covid, going back out to eat has been a challenge for me: the desire to be out and enjoy life vs the lower quality of food. I can appreciate the restaurant industry’s challenges too. I thought the dishes that came out of this kitchen were good solid food including the dessert. The wine was nice. They seem specialize in cocktails. Please do take care with the complimentary digestif- if you’re not a usual liquor drinker like me, it may give you a headache later. There were a lot of care and attention being placed by the staff which was nice but also a little overwhelming especially if more than one came to ask us the same question separated by a few minutes. I think they were trying hard due to a previous non-stellar rating.
In the end I would go again and I look forward to giving this establishment a 5 star review. Please keep doing...

We stayed later than expected, and while we felt a bit guilty, the staff and Mr. Bello remained warm and accommodating until the very end. That kind of generosity and service is rare and deeply appreciated.
