I have been a long term customer at the Brooklyn Redhook location. I rented storage unit 1060 for our construction company. The unit was convenient and centrally located. I started renting the unit about 10 years ago. The rent was approximately 400 dollars per month. I've decided to leave Cubesmart for 2 main reasons. ONE: The unit rate has increased approx 20% per year +/-. Bringing our current rent to almost 1,000 per month. I have emailed and spoken to management. I called the main office and expressed our frustration with the constant increases. If they would have stalled the rental rate or been somewhat responsive to our concerns, I would have stayed. However, it just doesn't make sense to pay 1k for a storage unit. Especially, when other units in the same building are renting for much less. TWO: The management at the Redhook location is completely deplorable. Terribly unhelpful. And completely dismissive of all issues and complaints. We had long term issues with pigeons. They were defecating on our tools. And ruining our equipment. When I told the management about it. And mentioned that our tools were getting ruined, they said there was nothing they could do about it. And that we should email the main office. I mentioned that I was going to move out if the unit kept increasing every year. And they said that there was nothing they could do about it. They told me the increases are allowable as per the contract I signed. No further effort was made to assist. There was another situation where I had to contact the district manager just to get the redhook store employees to assist with a run of the mill situation. We just need a little consideration for our concerns. I don't think Cubesmart wants their long term customers being treated poorly. Or being ignored. Especially, when I've been on auto-pay. And paying religiously for many years. Very disappointed at Cubesmart for employing poorly trained management at this location. And for increasing the rates well beyond the worth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAdrienne is a good dude. You can tell heās new, and he definitely has some tightening up to do when it comes to being professional, but itās clear his intentions are in the right place. He was very quick to point out that the issues I was experiencing were based on corporate decisions, and had nothing to do with the store, which makes sense because the staff has always been really great. Like most Americans, weāre being targeted by big business and taken advantage of, so itās refreshing to work with employees who havenāt lost their humanity. I havenāt even been in my unit a year, and the price has increased twice, and the last jump was $140 up a month. These decisions are clearly made by people who have no respect or care for their clients, so god bless the Adriennes of the world who off put that. I would have been paying $640 a month, up from $500, and now Iām in an until thatās $240 a month. If not for Adrienne, I wouldāve closed out my account altogether and never use CubeSmart again. Iām still on the fence as I assume CubeSmart will jack that price up in no time, but at least for now Iām saving $400 a month because of a GOOD STORE MANAGER.
If itās not clear, shame on corporate. Shame on the email forwarding, do nothing clowns that make it impossible for the in store staffs to save face with customers. Itās not lost on me that whoever is reading this falls into that category, so I hope you donāt play the corporate card of spinning all this to attack Adrienne or me, so your side doesnāt have to be accountable. If you want to vilify me, just remember thereās another round of big layoffs coming to offset all the customers leaving, so donāt defend those overlords too fast haha.
Give Adrienne a raise, and cut half the corporate marketing idiots who canāt market the brand correctly, and ride political trends...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been a hard way to describe this experience. In the beginning everything seemed to be running smoothly. I thought the staff was nice and helpful and then there were certain interactions with the assistant manager Rosa, from moving in she argued with my father about an unopened lock I purchased and wanted to return 5 minutes later( literally 5 minutes )because I found the one I brought and she didn't want to allow us to return it. Then recently I found that I was charged for this month although I moved out 2 weeks ago and gave 10 days written notice as the contract asked for and so I called just to get it all sorted it out and the first woman I talked to was very nice and told me she would call me back but 4 hours had passed and so I called and Rosaline Boodhoo the assistant manager answered and was rude and nasty and so i proceeded to tell her that I wasn't sure of what I should do because I was told I was going to be called right back she replied with an attitude well it will be reversed tomorrow( which is today) and as it stands nothing has been reversed. I wish that I could say that I had a great experience but it was overwhelmed my the horrible interactions I have had with not only a member of the staff but a someone on the management team. I work in customer service and I know it can be a hard job and so I always try to be a nice and polite as possible so for her to have the attitude and nasty tone that she had for no reason at all I wouldn't recommend staying here when someone like her still works there. I assume she hates her job because she takes it out on the customers. I know my experience isn't over yet because I still have to talk to someone about reversing the...
