A subversively delightful bar. One walks in and the place is cozy with just the right touches of freshness to keep it from being a pastiche. The lighting is soft, so everyone looks beautiful, even if you had a less-than-spectacular day. There’s a lovely mural as a back to the bar instead of filmy mirrors. There’s a marvelous soundtrack of gay chestnuts playing as background music for whatever one might choose to create. The selection of craft cocktails is impressive and creative. Many of their potions are made in house and exquisite. Every drink was served with care in some marvelous “found” stemware. Props for repurposing. I was fortunate to stroll in on an evening when Brenden, the owner, was working. I quickly became obsessed with his attention to detail, not to mention the supporting cast. Everyone worked so well and in concert, constantly checking, cleaning, restocking, prepping and it all looked effortless.
