They impose an illegal card minimum on all card purchases, when it's only applicable to credit card purchases per the City of NY AND Visa regulations. I tried, very nicely at first if I may add, to inform the cashiers of this when they told me I had to meet a $5 minimum. Because for me, it's about principle. It was Thanksgiving day, I had already spent a bunch at other grocery stores and I only needed 2 things from them! Why would I spend extra money on things I dont need, just to satisfy a rule you're implementing- that just so happens to be illegal?! The cashiers pretended they didn't understand what I was saying in English. So I switched over to Spanish and showed them the law on my phone. All of a sudden, they went mute and told me to speak to the manager, in English. Funny how that works.
The manager was smug and arrogant and everything a manager should not be. Literally told me verbatim "You don't get to tell me what is legal and what isn't," after I showed him my phone and proved him wrong. He then refused my purchase because I wasn't willing to give in. And that's fine because I took my ass to Key Food next door, spent less AND I've reported their violation on every outlet I could find. I was trying to give a smaller business my money and look...

However, I recently had a horrible experience where my roommate and I accidentally forgot to checkout salt (we had other products we got from there as well as Key Foods). A male worker with a cap asked us if the other groceries were theirs, and we said no because we assumed he was talking about the Key Food products and mistakenly forgotten the salt.
I completely understand of having to pay - if it was clarified in the store, I would’ve gladly paid for the salt (which was 2 dollars by the way). Instead, the male worker stalked us, followed us back to our apartment and insistently knocked on our door. It felt like a huge invasion of privacy, and I would’ve gladly paid the next time I went (I go at least once every 2 weeks).
This was also the exact same worker who was the reason why our apartment didn’t have gas for 2 months because of his refusal to let the maintenance worker into the back. Literally the last straw for me, and I won’t be going here anymore - which makes me sad because I loved to go here...
