This place has DELICIOUS food. Tonight I went in to buy some prepared food because I had a busy day and no time to cook before picking up my daughter from pre-k. I was planning to place an order for my Thanksgiving turkey, too, but the guy who was at the prepared food counter rubbed me the wrong way and I just wanted to get out of there after dealing with him.
I asked for 4 chicken cutlets and a large container of Greek salad. He said something about how it was going to cost more this way and did I want the family meal- I said “okay but is the family meal the same 4 pieces of chicken and Greek salad?” And he said, no, it was two pieces of chicken and the other two would be charged separately. He said he could charge them all separately but it would cost more. So did I want to pay more or less? I said “I really don’t understand, why don’t you just charge me whatever it costs” and he repeated that charging for them all separately would cost more and when I still didn’t understand why he didn’t just ring it up for whatever the best deal was and was insisting that I understand that he could charge me more for the same food (??), he said that I must be tired. Um what? Would someone ask to pay more for the same meal? I still have no idea what he was talking about. Just ring up my food! He seemed weirdly insistent that I acknowledge that I wanted the “family meal” even though it made absolutely no difference but...

Read moreA coworker and I just stopped in to satisfy our curiosity. I immediately see a manned station with sausage and brisket and see a sign board which lists the ten or so different sandwiches available at that station. I ask the gentleman which sandwich is the most popular and he point at the BBQ brisket and the sloppy joe. I asked which one he'd pick out of the two and he said the brisket, so that's what I went with. I noticed that the prices weren't posted (which usually isn't a good sign), but he said that most of the sandwiches were ten dollars.
The brisket was marinating in a sauce/gravy. After putting a huge helping of meat onto the bread, he dipped the top portion into the sauce and allowed it to absorb a nice amount of it. Next, he applied the slaw (optional) before assembling the sandwich.
The meat was tender and juicy. Not overly flavorful, but tasty. The slaw provided a nice balance to the salty meat.
We also picked up a loaf of lard bread. The name doesn't do the loaf justice. Baked inside of the bread various types of meat (prosciutto was one of them) and provolone cheese. Delicious.
I noticed that they also sell desserts, chicken wings, olive oils, and other tasty things. I'd pay them...
