Lemongrass was the first thai restaurant I visited after moving to Brooklyn. After trying countless thai spots across the city over the past years, it's still my favorite — a true testament to how good their food is.
After two visits, some of my favorites include Lychee Shrimps,Curry Puff, Chiang Mai Lee, Shrimp Woonseen and Pad Thai. But honestly, it’s hard to go wrong with any of their dishes.
*Curry Puff $13.95 One of my favorite apps from Lemongrass. These golden baked pastries were filled with minced chicken, mashed potatoes, and onions. The sweet cucumber sauce added a refreshing touch, making this snack even more delightful.
* Lychee Shrimp These jumbo shrimps were out of this world — very fresh, bouncy, and well sautéed. They had just the right amount of crunch without a heaping amount of breading, and carried a touch of sweetness from the creamy lychee sauce. The crunchy toppings made the dish even more addictive.
*Papaya Salad $12.95 I’ve been obsessed with papaya salad lately, so I order it every time I visit a Thai restaurant. I loved the crunchy shredded papaya, carrots, and string beans.
*Pad Thai with Chicken $19.95 I was craving something classic, so I opted for their pad thai. It reminded me of what a truly delicious pad thai should taste like: packed with flavors and a subtle hint of sweetness and citrus. The thin, chewy noodles perfectly held up the sauce.
*Shrimp Woonseen $27.95 Served in a clay pot, this dish came generously loaded with SIX jumbo shrimp. The glass noodles were bursting with flavor, which really impressed me. It also came with a side of jasmine rice, but I wished they could give me more glass noodles. Definitely a 10/10!
* Chiang Mai Mee w/ Seafood T egg noodles soaked up the rich curry broth, but on a softer side. It was loaded with mussels, prawns, squids and broccoli. Guessing they used frozen seafood, so the prawns weren’t as juicy as the lychee shrimps. *Tips: pay $3 more to get the jumbo shrimps (totally worth it), or consider pairing with other proteins!
* Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Crispy Duck God this was so freaking fancy the fried rice was served on a pineapple bowl. The crispy duck had a good meat-fat ratio covered in a golden skin. It was packed with layers of bright flavors from chunks of sweet pineapples and assorted veggies, as well as imparting “wok hei” to give a smoky aroma.
*Mango Sticky Rice $13 Beautifully presented! I loved that they included coconut syrup on the side. It wasn’t just served with real mango, but also with mango ice cream, which had actual mango bits in it. A must-order!
* Chocolate Lava Cake w/ Vanilla Ice Cream We wanted sth non-fried and light to finish off our heavy meal, so our server strongly recommended this. The cake was warm with a gooey center. A large scoop of ice cream and whipped cream was served on the side, drizzled with chocolate. SIMPLE BUT SATISFYING.
* Coconut Mojito Virgin, Pina Colada Virgin Who doesn't love an Instagrammable cocktail? Most of their cocktails can be made into mocktails. Their drinks were aesthetically pleasing, however both tasted extremely sweet and artificial. It was literally like gulping a cup of syrup, probably because we asked for non-alcoholic? Let their servers know if you dislike the beverages, as they are willing to change your drinks.
*Thai Iced Tea $6 *Lychee Iced Tea $6 I asked for less condensed milk in the thai iced tea, and it was just the right level of sweetness. However, the lychee iced tea was too sweet for my liking. As always, their drinks—including cocktails and mocktails—tend to be on the...

First impressions: Cute, instagrammable-looking place. Greeted immediately by the friendly staff and then was seated at the table.
I went here on a Monday night to dine with a good friend of mine to catch up. I noticed the people around us were mostly groups of friends and families, so this is definitely great for large parties. Dining/drinking alone is an option too, as they have a bar inside.
Staff was really attentive and would come by every now and then to take our orders, refresh our water, and ask if we had any questions.
Service was really fast too! Everything came out quick.
My friend and I ordered drinks first. I got a piña colada which was served in an actual pineapple, garnished with watermelon, fruits, berries, and a flower! Super loved the presentation, it’s def an instagrammable cocktail! It was delicious and the alcohol wasn’t overpowering.
My friend ordered a mocktail lychee-based drink, which i tried, and it was delicious! So whether you’re drinking alcohol or not, you’ll have options there.
When it came to the appetizers, we had steamed shrimp dumplings and the shrimp bao buns. Very tasty and flavorful, i was impressed! The shrimp in the buns were extra crispy. Honestly, you could order lots of appetizers here and get full from them!
The main courses came out immediately when we were done with the appetizers. I had the mango shrimp, and my friend had a curry. The entrees come with a bowl of white rice. I was really surprised with the servings cos they were huge, which i was not expecting because the prices were really affordable!
Everything was delicious and well presented. I got so full with the mango shrimp, it was a lot!! I loved how it tasted so much, i’d definitely order it again. Both dishes had lots of veggies that came with them, so they were packed with lots of flavors.
For dessert we had mango sticky rice. It came with a scoop of mango ice cream too! Really delicious and not to sweet. The ice cream they used was perfect.
My friend and I had a great time catching up here, such a good spot for bonding and hanging out. There were also lots of other things we wanted to try, but we were already so full. I’m already planning my next friend...
Read moreThis is the first negative review I’ve ever left on Google Maps, and it’s also the first time I’ve cried in a restaurant due to poor service.
We had made a reservation in advance and arrived on time. We waited for any staff to assist us, but they were all busy. I informed a passing staff that we had a reservation, but she just told me to wait. So, we stood at the front desk along with other walk-in customers for a long time. I noticed that our reserved patio table was empty—they could have seated us much earlier. During this time, different staff came over and asked how many people were in our party, but after asking, they just walked away letting us keep waiting for no reason. There was absolutely no organization.
When I mentioned our reservation for the third time to the third different staff member, she still attempted to serve other customers who came later than us. When she finally attended to me, she was incredibly rude—without saying a word, she just picked up the menu and walked toward the patio, closing the door behind her, leaving me inside. She gave no indication of whether I was supposed to follow her or wait. If I hadn't noticed her carrying the menu, I wouldn’t have even realized that I should be following her.
I thought that if the food was good, I could overlook the poor service. However, the food was just average—worth trying once but not worth returning for. I also overheard other tables complaining about the lack of service, though I did notice that some other staff members were warm and attentive (but this seemed to be an exception rather than the norm).
Overall, this was an extremely disappointing dining experience.
**Response to the restaurant’s reply:
Please take a look at the response you left me in the screenshot. If you truly want to apologize, shouldn’t you at least spell the name of the person you’re apologizing to correctly (and you have sneakily edited it without mentioning or apologizing about your disrespectful misspelling)? This is how you consider "respecting" customers?
I notice there are quite a lot other reviews mentioning that customers being left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. Apparently the restaurant didn’t care about this issue. I do not accept the apology. Whether you would actually train your staff to provide better service in the future is no longer my concern, as I will not...
