There’s a reason why this place is still thriving after over 100 years, it’s simply the best. Everyone who knows about this place would agree with me (as you can see by the countless other 5-star reviews).

In terms of the meat, it is of the highest quality and it’s obviously fresh (for a fair price I might add). I personally get ground beef; it is such high quality that I will actually eat it raw when I get it freshly ground lol. They also have farm-fresh eggs, and homemade cookies that my mom goes crazy for. I literally trust these people with my life when it comes to food; most of my diet consists of their ground beef.

Speaking of the people, the Lepine family are some of the best and most genuine people I’ve ever met in my life. Nowadays, the market is ran by brothers John and Mike, two of the coolest dudes around. They treat me like family, which is another huge reason why I will continue to come here. I seriously can’t stress how good they’ve been to me, especially John.

A rare gem family owned business that has survived the test of time! Now in the hands of the third generation Mike & John. Everything is made by hand and you taste the difference hands down the best meats. The meat comes from a small farm outside Toronto, grass fed, antibiotic & hormone free. Most of the meat we buy from the supermarket is sprayed with chemicals to make it look fresher not at Empire. Some of my favorites are the ground beef, rib steak, roasted turkey cold cut, hot dogs and smoked bacon. A small section of the store is dedicated to selling candy which threw me off the first time I went but now I look forward to eating my favorite candy growing up. I have been shopping at Empire for over 15 years. This family owned business takes pride in serving the community with integrity and amazing service. You will not find better meat anywhere! I trust their meat so thoroughly we eat it raw at times! They have a direct relationship with a farm, no middle men or processing plants. I am lucky to live close by, however, it is worth the trip if you don't. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention home made coldcuts. No freakin' nitrates or preservatives.
