I will start by saying that the place is still very beauitful and they're pastries are very fresh and delicious. However my review has to do with a recent order I had placed to make a cake for a VERY SPECIAL EVENT. It was a suprise party, where the guest of honor loves Basketball. The request was to make a Dominican cake out of a basketball Jersey. The most important piece was the last name on the Jersey. Most people in the party had that last name, so you can imagine how important that detail was. I made the request a week in advance, where I sent them instructions twice about the details of the cake. They asked me what time I would like the cake to be ready by and I said 3pm. I arrived at 4:50pm and the cake was still not ready. I asked to see the cake and they just insisted that it will be ready soon. The manager offered to deliver the cake at the location I was having the party. I thought that was great and accepted. When they cake was delivered I asked someone that was assisting in prepping my party to send me a picture of the cake and I was devasted and disappointed. They missed the main detail to the cake. They put the wrong last name, they put the name of the picture I found on the internet and I was specific in those details two times. I called many times to have them remedy the situation at that momemt. Because I knew once I had to cut the cake they were going to give me a problem on a refund. Their customer service was aweful. The one girl even said, "I mean you don't want the cake just because of the name". If she doesn't know what it is to have those details and be more compassionate, then she should not work there because all she was doing is making the situation worse. So if you order a cake, buyer be ware. I am very dissappointed. I thought I deseved a full refund, instead I only got half. That cake was the centerpiece to the party and they ruined that moment that I will...
Read moreif I could give place negative stars I would. I should have knows that I was going to have a terrible experience when I went into the owners restaurant two doors down and found a hair in my rice right after ordering my cake. I ordered a cake for my son's 10th birthday, was told that the cake would be ready for pick up by 10am. I got there at 11:45am and a pleasant young lady that I actually felt bad for brought out a large cake box that was sealed and said thank you. I informed her that I wanted to see how the cake came out , which was supposed to be NY KNICKS cake, however when she opened the box there was nothing on it. She was about to let me walk out of the store with a blank white cake that only had happy birthday written on it, which I paid 81 dollars for in advance. After 20 minutes of scrambling around she called the owner to come in from his other spot, Mangu, and he made it a point to rudely say "happy birthday" as he handed me my money back. I was even late to work because of these pieces of garbage. My fault for giving this NEW business a chance. I should have just went to La Cheesecake which is a few blocks away on 14th Ave where they have AMAZING CAKES and know how to treat paying customers. All I can say is THANK GOD...
Read moreOrdered a cake that taste completely different from the ones they sell. Tried to talk and even took a piece of the cake with me so they can see it and the girl in the front agreed with us that the cake looked dry and it had only 1 layer instead of the 2 layers i had ordered, but when we talked to the owner he was not listening. He got defensive. He has no customer service at all. He kept us coming to the business several times. When it comes to the money they get mad if they have to give some money back. But to charge they are happy to take your money but not to solve an issue where it was a clear mistake of theirs. I payed 195 for a cake that tasted terrible and at the end he gave me 50 dollars back with attitude and said to never come back to the business. And he was hiding from us on the back. He didnt even care to solve anything. When he saw that his own employee had agreed with is, that’s when he decided to hand us 50 dollars only with such a...
