I normally don't write reviews, but I unfortunately have to share my experience. I called to make an appointment as a new client and was told first time is $55 for gel manicure and that it will take 2-3 hrs. I accepted. Then I received a text message that the appointment was booked 1:30pm-4:30pm.
On my appointment day 12/14, I did not get to leave until 5:30pm. At around 4:20 I asked the owner if I can leave by 4:30 because I have plans after, and she said it will take another 40mins and that she informed me beforehand it will take 2-3hrs.
Yes, exactly. It had already been 3hrs, and I had to leave but I could not.
The junior nail tech (Mariana I believe) bled my thumb from cutting into my skin past the cuticle. I told her multiple times I have delicate skin and bleed easily. She did not apologize after I started bleeding. She continued to press and file on it for 4 hours until it was red. She roughly rubbed the exposed skin with acetone, and my other fingers were in pain too from all the careless filing. It seemed the tech cared more about making sure the nails were perfect to her liking and completely disregarded my well being.
Even after telling the owner I had to leave right away once everything was done, she proceeded to take photos of my nails.
I tried to be very polite until the end and explained to the owner how painful the whole experience was, but having to put up with this for 4 hours was so upsetting that once it was over I went to my car and cried.
It was a traumatizing experience and hope no one ever goes...
Read moreI did research online looking for an experienced, skilled nail technician who was able to do Russian Manicures. After some time, I came across Olesya who owns Eternity Nails in Brooklyn South.
I’m glad I did.
I’ve been getting my nails done (complete with all the trends) for many years and was frustrated with the condition of my nails and cuticles. A work colleague said I should try the Russian manicure so here we are.
I am not exaggerating, this is the best manicure I’ve ever had. I have a particular annoyance with my cuticles over growing and looking gross. I was also suffering severe breakage after using powder for so long.
Olesya took her time, explained all steps to me and put me at ease as a first time consumer of this service. She has an extensive, high end gel polish collection which had my favourite colour (usually a problem for me to find).
My nails had to be shortened because of the breakage I came in with but this is the prettiest short nail manicure I’ve had. I opted for the hard base as my nails are brittle right now, but I’m hoping to transition over to the rubber eventually.
Her prices are very, very reasonable for the amount of technical skill she has. I suffered no pain, I have no red spots and my nails look amazing.
I highly...
Read moreBeing that it’s my first time getting a Russian pedicure I can’t really compare to any other spots. I can only compare it to regular salons and I will say I completely understand why Russian pedicures are the way to go. I feel like regular salons focus on quantity versus quality and I feel like I got a quality pedicure. Anastasia my tech did an amazing job on me. I tend to have very dry skin and accumulate a lot of dead skin around my nailbeds and she really took her time cleaning up all around my nail bed and feet. I left this place with just beautiful smooth feet! They offer a 20% off discount for first time clients so that was a nice surprise. Regardless if I got the discount or not as a first time client I still would’ve paid what I was charged because it was worth it. They also take walk ins which is very convenient and unlike many places of quality. Although there is some construction happened on other parts of the place the section they work from is closed off. It very nicely decorated with new equipment, clean, and calming. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the place will look like once it’s done. I highly recommend this place and will definitely...
