KTCollection — Local services in New York

I passed by this lovely store last week and Lillian was kind enough to help me and answer all my questions. I specifically was looking for a nice, delicate everyday necklace, I could wear alone or layer. My request was in needed to be solid gold. Lillian showed me a number of beautiful pieces and I feel in love with the wishbone necklace. My other request was for a change in the clasp. I only have one hand and use my mouth to put on or take off the necklace and needed a clasp which could handle that treatment daily. Not only was Lillian wonderful in her suggestions but Kate (the owner & designer I believe ) emailed me numerous times to be sure they could provide what I needed. Kate even called to confirm when I was ready to purchase. The level of service and kindness they provided me, did not go unnoticed. I will be passing on their name to all my friends and I'm certainly headed back to purchase earrings in the near future, Remember you get what you pay for. This beautiful shop offers wonderful dainty, quality pieces at a fair range in prices. I started shopping at KT Collection years ago when they opened their first location on 75th and Columbus - my neighborhood at the time. I have several of their signature necklaces, handmade earrings and bracelets, and get soooo many compliments when I wear their pieces. The jewelry will last a long time if you take care of it (i.e. don't shower too often with the necklaces or the dipped chains will tarnish). Any time I've had an issue the owner and/or store staff has been more than helpful to either fix or exchange and item. I can't speak to any experience with the costume jewelry because I've only purchased handmade/original gold and/or silver items. I'm now living on the West Coast and still order from KT online...which I'm about to do today because I get a $10 birthday discount! I like this store for its bags and costume jewelry. Never bought regular jewelry there. I was told all of the costume bracelets I bought are from France. Were they actually made there? Not sure. At least with the bags, it says right in the bag where it’s made. The ones I have are all from Italy, and I love them!

Once when I asked about scarves, I was told they’re from a specific European country (don’t recall if the woman said France or Italy), and I pointed out that the labels clearly said otherwise (China or another Asian country). When I did so, the woman said “Well, the fabric comes from X,” or maybe she said it was designed in a specific European country.

Whatever the case, I don’t like it when store personnel (and owners) play fast and loose with manufacturing details like this, so I am cautious when I go in here, but I do think the selection is very nice, and the pricing on bags given their quality is reasonable. Good place...
