Horrible experience — do NOT recommend. I came in for Gel-X with Yoshi and it took over 3.5 hours due to constant mistakes. I asked for ballerina shape and was given some odd, uneven shape instead. Despite repeatedly asking for short nails, she left them long and bulky. The gel is thick, sloppy, and on my skin. One nail was crooked and she tried to “fix” it with a paper extension, but didn’t know how to use builder gel properly. I eventually had to tell her to just take it off.
On top of that, I was burned multiple times — the UV light was severely hot, the drill also burned nailbed several times, and even the towel she gave me was scalding. I have sensitive skin and I communicated that clearly, but it was completely ignored.
This was supposed to be a fresh set for a photoshoot, and I left feeling frustrated, uncomfortable, and disappointed. The salon was nearly empty, and now I understand why. Unskilled work, no attention to detail, and absolutely no concern for client comfort. Total waste of time and money. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.
But I will say the Techs were all so sweet and lovely including mine I hate that I have to write this review however nails are important and they are not skilled in Gel x here at least not the tech I was with someone from the fire department also came in so my appointment stopped while that happened. Just overall a NO FOR ME I wish I could get my money back as I literally have to take these off and get a new...
Read moreThe salon has a clean space with a fresh renovation, but the negatives outweighed the positives. The management is poorly organized: after booking online, they called twice to ask me to come earlier, which was inconvenient. Eventually, I brought my daughter, hoping for a special family experience since the salon offers a family promotion.
Unfortunately, the service was rushed, with the manicure done in just 30 minutes and with little attention to detail. The staff seemed eager to finish quickly, even though there was still time left before closing. They also included an unnecessary one-minute back massage.
While the salon looks nice, the service felt unprofessional, especially given the price comparable to better experiences elsewhere. Staff need training in communication and...
Read moreI recently moved to Park Slope, and decided to check out Flourish DYC to get a french gel manicure and spa pedicure due to the high reviews. It was even better than I expected! The foot/leg massage I received during the spa pedicure and the back massage while my manicure was curing were both sublime -- I honestly thought I was going to fall asleep. The manicure and pedicure are still near perfect after several days (despite the fact that I've been unpacking and cleaning nonstop); and the girls who work here are really, really sweet. Would hugely recommend, and I'm excited to go back!
Please note that the images in this review were taken several days after the service -- any defects are definitely my fault :) Manicure was gel, pedicure was...
