So a lot of negative reviews on Alan. who apparently is the owner. i am gonna support these reviews. I have been going to Slope Suds since 2021 for a men’s haircut. I have always gone to Nikki and she has been amazing. but due to recent scheduling i have been going to Maria and she has always been amazing. Both Nikki and Maria usually spend 30 to 45 minute on my hair to get feedback and modify to make sure it’s to my liking. I went in yesterday and Alan stepped in to cut for Maria and I agreed. He asked me how i like it so i told him and asked me how my day was going. good start so far. then he began to cut and was proceeding at a vigorously fast pace. i didn’t mind. five minutes later he had my hair washed. and then another five minutes later after a few snips here and there and adding some product to style it he sent asked if it looked good. i looked it was ok. so i did my usual thanked him. tipped and was on my way. the cut was 15 minutes long. when i got home and took a shower did i notice all the imperfections. when the product came off. hair over ears and back not tapered long ends here and there. and other areas not looking even. how can you do this. send me off on my way after 15 minutes for a 90 dollar haircut. i don’t get it especially if you are the owner. look at the history, i have been going to your place for a very long time at least pay me the respect of spending more than 15 minutes on my hair to truly focus on it. i could go to a barber shop and get that type of haircut...

Came in for highlights with Maria because she also has curly hair, and during our consultation I felt like we were aligned. I shared reference photos and emphasized that I was looking for warm, golden tones—something dimensional, sun-kissed, and natural. I specifically mentioned that I didn’t want anything too white or ashy. Maria agreed and even pointed out that overly white pieces from a previous salon are the result of leaving bleach on too long. She pulled a test strand and it pulled a warmer tone, which gave me confidence to move forward.

At the first appointment, my entire head ended up a cool-toned dark brown—flat and ashy, with no visible highlights or dimension. I expressed my concern right away, and was told that the toner would fade and that warmth would come through over time. I followed up via email and, although they offered a follow-up appointment, I never received an apology.

At the second appointment, Maria washed out the first toner and didnt want to use different toners..while the result was slightly better, it’s still not close to the warm, golden tones I asked for. Now, a week later, some of the highlights she did are stark white... it looks unnatural and I'm so nervous for when the rest of this "toner" fades

The overall look is not golden or dimensional and I'm disappointed that I spent $400+ and walked away with...

I am chronically bad at taking care of my hair, often going at least a year between haircuts. But after seeing Alan six months ago, that has changed. His focus is geniunely on the HEALTH of your hair. He encouraged me to try a different regimen and it has CHANGED MY HAIR completely.

I have incredibly fine hair and have always struggled with extreme changes from oily to dry, frazzled hair requiring daily shampoo and (I thought) conditioner. Alan spoke to me at length, asking me questions and explaining the options, based on what he felt and saw in my hair. He never tried to upsell me or convince me to come to the salon more often for treatments or cuts. He gave me tips about how to spend LESS on higher quality, natural products and just to come for a cut whenever my hair desperately needed it. I tried out the cleansing regimen he suggested and I can't believe the difference.

I know this sounds like an infomercial, but I can't express enough how thrilled I am to have touchably soft hair with volume and shine - WITHOUT PRODUCT or daily styling. And no greasy, oily scalp... Simply by using a smaller amount of quality shampoo every few days, alternating with a cleanser. I appreciate Alan's sincerity, honesty and genuine interest in not just cutting and styling, but in good hair care for today and the future. I am now a repeat...

Went in to get 1/2 head highlighted in May 2023 and a had consultation beforehand. The owner Alan did the highlights, gave me something completely different. Three days later washed my hair and the water was dark blue, took about 5 minutes to get the water clear. Once dry my highlights were blue and some blueish greenish. THE OWNER SAID TO COME IN TO FIX IT and asked for a "shout out" on Google reviews Here it is.... Went back Alan tried to fix the color. Didn't tell me what he was doing and then I smelled bleach/ammonia as he is washed my hair. The color was still wrong. I had 3- 5 different shades from light browns to reds, to oranges. my curly was hair now was fried, stripe of the moisture knotted and breaking. This salon previously did the color that existed in my hair 9months prior. After Alan's 2nd attempted to color my hair he failed and damage my hair in the process, told me to come in for a treatment. I refused to trust him for a 3rd time to handle my hair. When I asked for a refund a since I spend over $200 more on products and treatments to repair his damage, he never responded to my ask. Very unprofessional. This man should be ashamed to call himself a color correction specialist and a hair stylist. SAVE YOUR HAIR and pay extra, go to a real expert to get your color done.

I have been going here since they opened, Mimi is always great and listens to what I want at any visit, But she is so good I trust her . The couple times I did use other stylist, when Mimi was not in, I always have a good experience here. Love my Mimi UPDATE. Since going to Slopesuds for a very long time I am a very happy customer. Work they do (Alan ) is none like anyplace I’ve gone to The people are so nice and go out if their way to make sure your comfortable. Who doesn’t like being pampered? I do. It’s a great place Thank you Alan
