Gardel's Garden — Local services in New York

We’ve lived in the neighborhood for 25 years and have always appreciated and enjoyed supporting the local businesses. Unfortunately this business overcharges. We recently bought a few flower plants to plant in pots on our balcony. We paid more than twice as much as we have at other places selling plants, like the hardware store or the farmer’s market. Looking for a new hobby to ease my mind of the global chaos 2020 has unleashed, I found Gardel’s Garden in passing... and walked out with four lovely plants (within two days). Gardel’s has an amazing selection to choose from. As a novice, he explained the signs to look for when my babies need water and care for them if any insects are present. the folks that run this place are really pleasant. that said, I didn't appreciate the spider mite infestation that accompanied my ficus home. I've lost eight OTHER plants to the carnage and I imagine I'll lose some more (including my first born son) before this biblical plague subsides.

edit: rip my spider plant edit 2: rip my money tree, also found mites on my pilea.... this place is costing me my entire plant collection.
