Two year update: Unfortunately I feel the quality in estheticians at Glowbar has dropped and they’re no long as experienced as they use to be when I first started going here two years ago. On the last 4-5 consecutive visits to Glowbar I’ve left with my skin feeling and looking worse than it did when I came in. On one occasion the products used on my skin were so harsh that my face was irritated, dry and peeling for almost two weeks. Yesterday I had extractions done at my appointment to two very small unproblematic breakouts on my face. I honestly don’t even believe it was necessary to extract them. When I woke up this morning both pimples have turned into massive whiteheads (they were not whiteheads prior to extraction) and one of the pimples on my forehead is so inflamed and irritated it looks like I was stung by a bee! This happens literally every time I get extractions here, I kid you not. I have contemplated cancelling my membership over the past couple months and after yesterdays experience I think Glowbar just isn’t for me anymore. What an amazing experience I had at my first visit to GlowBar today. I’ve always found facials to be tiresome and a nuisance but not today. This was the most relaxing facial/beauty service I’ve ever experienced! Marjorie was the aesthetician I had the pleasure of taking care of me today. She is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to skin. I love that she shared tips and advice specifically to my skin type. I recommend taking the membership like I did if you’re seriously committed to your skin. I look forward to visiting again next month and continuing my journey to amazing skin. Just in time for summer :)

I wanted to leave a review on my experience as others may be looking for a place to have their first facial and I want to leave tips! The facial in all was a lovely experience. The esthetician seemed knowledgeable and comfortable. This was my first facial ever, so I honestly had no expectations in mind. I will say though that the email I received states that your facial is to “target your unique concerns”. I was asked one question about my skin and that was it. I was also told very basic, bare minimum information on what was being applied to my skin. I love knowing what is in products and would’ve enjoyed learning more about what was in the products used and why they were being used in my facial. I would’ve been interested in what products were used, but my esthetician did not impart any information about what specific products were used and how to keep my skin glowing/hydrated once the facial was done (when that’s another promise in the welcome email). Finally, when I left, the lobby is very small and there were three people speaking with the receptionist/waiting to check in. I left without checking out as my prep emails said nothing about checking out when finished. I then receive an email with my receipt and notice a $15 tip was automatically added. I would’ve loved some up front information about this and would have absolutely checked in with the receptionist if I knew I had to select a tip amount. Definitely be up front about what you want during your facial and be sure to check out with the receptionist after!

Let me just start saying that I have been visiting this spa for a couple of months! They perform a very safe environment by asking their clients a few questions before their upcoming appointment. Questions like do you have any type of Fever or feeling feverish (chills, sweating), New cough, Difficulty breathing etc. When you arrive you get your temperature taken and check in with one of the iPads. They also perform social distancing maintaining at least 6 feet between all individuals. You will start with washing your face yourself. Keep in mind that the waiting area is aesthetically beautiful so take a couple of flicks during that time! (Thank me later). They perform a 30 minutes facial and customized treatment for your skin concerns. Furthermore, My overall experience with Glowbar has been wonderful! Everyone that works here is very kind and welcoming. Glowbar doesn't feel like a regular spa it feels like your going to your homegirl to get a facial done and this is why I recommend you guys to go and visit Glowbar.

I really hate to leave a bad review but it’s been a few days since I had my facial here and I still am struggling with issues from that treatment. I was pretty sure I wanted to do dermaplaning, as I get that done every few months at another location usually but when the esthetician asked me “why do you dermaplane” I was kind of like “okay, let’s do whatever you feel is best” - sadly I should’ve gone with my gut and requested the service I thought was best for my skins current state.

I had almost NO blemishes visible on the surface before my appointment but after an exfoliating peel, she said she’d treat a few areas of congestion with manual extractions which I was totally fine with… but the pressure used was truly unacceptable. Not only was my skin SO red and inflamed in those 2-3 regions afterwards, but now it’s been almost a week and I’m dealing with the bruising in that region and I’m afraid those blemishes will leave hyperpigmentation. I am particularly disappointed because my birthday is in two days and I really am sad that I got that treatment thinking it would ensure my skin was better than when I went in, not worse.

Definitely won’t be booking at this location...
