A Bean Full of Smiles – A Fun Little Surprise in the City!

Have you ever stumbled upon something unexpectedly adorable that instantly made your day? That’s exactly how I felt when I came across this bean-shaped sculpture tucked in the corner of the road—so cute and beautiful, I just had to stop!

The sculpture might be small in size compared to famous landmarks, but its charm is huge. Thanks to its smooth, curvy shape and mirror-like surface, it reflects everything around it—your face, the skyline, and even the laughter of people nearby. It’s like a mini version of Chicago’s Cloud Gate, hidden right here in the city!

The best part? You get amazing photos without trying too hard. Whether it's a selfie, a group shot, or a funny pose with your reflection, the bean makes every picture pop. I couldn’t help myself—I clicked so many photos from all angles. It was fun, lighthearted, and totally worth the visit.

Another bonus: it’s super easy to reach, just a short 5-minute walk from the subway. Whether you're a tourist or a local, it’s a perfect quick stop to break up your day.

It’s great for all age groups—kids giggling at their reflections, friends striking funny poses, couples taking creative selfies. Trust me, if you’re nearby, swing by and enjoy this delightful piece of public art. Sometimes, the little things end up being the...

Anish Kapoor’s NYC version mini Bean is a nice little taste of the Chicago sculpture. I hear that it’s apparently “an eye sore” from some online blogs, but I think it’s a nice addition to this area of lower manhattan. There’s not much to do down here other then go to Walker st and check out more art galleries or go to eat at Chinatown, or even WTC Observatory. This little attraction was a nice pit stop for this years Lunar year in Chinatown.

The point of the sculpture is to distort the surrounding areas within the curved mirror finish and make it interactive. It’s suppose to look like the Jenga building is squishing it. Ai claims it was around $8-10million dollars to construct and took four years...

Located at 56 Leonard St in Tribeca, it resembles the artist’s Cloud Gate similar stainless steel piece located in Chicago.

This one is known as the bean and it is much smaller than the one in Chicago, but still worth the visit.

Even thought it has been here since some time in 2023, this was my first time visiting the bean.

It can be combined with other attractions within the financial district, Chinatown or lower manhattan in general.

All in all, recommended for arts and...
