This place is horrendous answering calls to HR can never get thru on the phone. The client I was working for who was a friend let me go to give the job to her daughter I was working somewhere else also, earning double the money in a PT management position so it was no problem. She told me she would call and notify Hand in Hand. Her daughter is currently working for her. I also called them and finally someone called me back 2 weeks later I told them the client let me go and the reason why. Also told them I was working somewhere else even though the person kept insisting for me to take another client. I have always been in management this was only to help my friend. Was laid off my shelter management job 5 months later and they have denied my unemployment because of this company saying I quit!!! If my friend would not have let me go I would have still been working for her only because we were friends. I was hired thru CDPAP program to work just with that client this agency wants to force you to work with other clients. This is not my field and only did it to help my friend and because I was not working. Now I have to appeal and go thru hoops because they lied and said I quit. I will fight this tooth and nails. Hand In Hand agency is a terrible agency. Workers stole clothing with tags still attached. Whenever you try to contact them, they don’t return calls; or they call you back the following week. The company is very lax and their workers are not competent. I had my mother with this agency. She’s is English speaking. The workers that came to the home some were good. I went to the home in afternoons and mornings on a few occasions; worker is fast asleep; didn’t even know I came into the house. Checked my mum, she’s soaking wet and bed is wet also. My mum telling me she’s in pain and hungry. The refrigerator is loaded with food I shouldn’t be hearing this. No pain meds given, which is on the table. Another time they sent a Spanish worker, who spoke no English at all. I got to the house my mum is soaking wet. I have to change the bed and my mum while the hha stands watching me. I was alerted one day, by a worker that my mum had a ulcer; which was very very bad; she ended up in hospital. Don’t waste your time with this agency. They don’t check with the families. When you call their words are not genuine and they really don’t care. If I could go below one...

Shortly after receiving his COVID Vaccine my father unfortunately endured a very bad stroke. We went through every ICU you can imagine and also through the pains of rehabs and nursing homes . When we were finally blessed with the news that dad was stable enough to bring home we were a bit nervous but grateful to do so. The stroke left my father fully bedridden, and unable to do anything for himself, so we knew the right care was going to be crucial to ensure his quality of life. We were referred to this agency and we met Lila. She has been our right hand saving grace . She has been empathetic, patient and extremely knowledgeable through out it all, and dealing with what we are dealing with having someone like that in your corner is pivotal for the family and priceless. Yes some of these reviews look a bit off but don’t let them stop you from reaching out and finding the right person for your family member .
